Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →This May 16, 2024 roundup covered four different technology stories: Winamp’s planned source-code release, Sony’s Xperia 1 VI launch, a maker-built Flipper Zero-inspired device called Hackbat, and AAEON’s Intel N97 Nezha developer board. The announcements are historical; the sources cited here do not establish current product availability or the present status of Winamp’s plan.
Winamp announced a plan to release its Windows player’s source code
Liliputing reported on May 16, 2024 that Llama Group planned to release source code for the Windows music player on September 24, 2024. The stated aim was “enabling the entire community to participate in its development.” That was a plan announced in 2024, not confirmation that the release took place. The available report does not establish what code or license would be covered, or Winamp’s current open-source status. Liliputing’s roundup
Sony Xperia 1 VI: zoom range, battery claims, and regional models
Sony announced the premium Xperia 1 VI on May 15, 2024. Its UK announcement highlighted a telephoto optical zoom lens spanning 85–170 mm equivalent, up to 7.1x, alongside a 24 mm main camera with Exmor T for mobile and telephoto macro capability. The roundup also lists a 16 mm ultrawide camera. These are launch-era specifications, not a statement about current availability. Sony’s UK announcement
Battery and display figures are Sony claims
Sony lists a 5,000 mAh battery and says the phone can provide up to two days of typical use. It also claims more than 36 hours of continuous video playback under its test conditions, approximately 50% charge in 30 minutes, and four years of battery health through its charging features. These are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Sony also describes the display as 1.5 times brighter than the previous model. Sony’s UK announcement

Check the market and configuration before comparing
The roundup’s configuration lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, microSD, USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, and a 3.5 mm headphone connection. Sony’s Japanese release documents different SIM-free memory configurations and Japan-specific release timing, so specifications and availability should be compared by market and SKU rather than treated as universal. Hackbat is a DIY hardware project, not a ready-made Flipper Zero alternative
Hackbat is an open-source pen-testing hardware project published by Pablo Trujillo on Hackster on May 1, 2024. Its design centers on a Raspberry Pi RP2040 and combines a CC1101 sub-1 GHz radio, ESP-12F Wi-Fi module, PN532 NFC module, microSD, USB, a 128×64 OLED, buttons, and LEDs. The documented RF configuration is 433 MHz; the project says 868 MHz is possible by changing components. Hackster project documentation

What building it involves
The project page supplies schematics and instructions, describes board fabrication, and lists a generic soldering iron among the tools. That makes Hackbat a build-your-own project rather than a verified finished retail device. The project describes its hardware and design files as open source; the available documentation does not establish a complete software suite or plug-and-play feature parity with Flipper Zero. The comparison is therefore limited to the general idea of a compact, multifunction security-oriented device—not equivalent capabilities or support. Hackster project documentation

This is a dated launch-era report, not a verified current price or indication of stock.
