In Xiaomi India’s catalogue snapshot dated October 4, 2026, both phones were listed with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G cost ₹25,999 and the REDMI Note 17 5G cost ₹27,999—a ₹2,000 difference, with the Note 15 SE cheaper. A 91mobiles Amazon price snapshot showed a different gap, so check the same retailer’s checkout price before deciding.
India price difference: ₹2,000 at Xiaomi’s store snapshot
The prices below are India listings captured on October 4, 2026, not launch prices, guaranteed checkout totals, or claims about current availability. Xiaomi’s catalogue is the primary source for its displayed prices and configurations; 91mobiles provides a separate Amazon India snapshot.
| Model | Configuration | Xiaomi India catalogue, Oct. 4, 2026 | 91mobiles Amazon India snapshot |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 15 SE 5G | 6 GB + 128 GB | ₹25,999 | ₹24,885 |
| REDMI Note 17 5G | 6 GB + 128 GB | ₹27,999 | ₹27,999 |
At Xiaomi’s displayed prices, the Note 17 costs ₹2,000 more. In the separate 91mobiles snapshot, the difference is ₹3,114. These figures come from different retail contexts and should not be combined; discounts, stock, and checkout totals can change.

How the listed specifications compare
The available pairwise specifications come from 91mobiles, not a full Xiaomi specification sheet. The comparison lists a newer Android version for the Note 17, but a different Snapdragon chip; those names alone do not establish which phone performs better in real use.

Battery capacity: a secondary-source claim to verify
Smartprix reports an 8,000 mAh battery for the Note 17 and a 5,800 mAh battery for the Note 15 SE. Its comparison page also contains inconsistent product-box information, so these capacities are provisional, not confirmed specifications. Check Xiaomi’s device-specific specifications or manuals before treating battery capacity as a deciding advantage. Capacity by itself also does not establish real-world battery life.

Choose by price first
If the prices you can actually buy at are close to Xiaomi’s October 4 catalogue snapshot, the Note 15 SE is the lower-cost option by ₹2,000 for the same listed 6 GB + 128 GB configuration. Recheck both models at the same retailer on the same day; the separate Amazon snapshot shows how the gap can vary.

Consider Android version, but verify the rest
91mobiles lists Android 16 on the Note 17 and Android 15 on the Note 15 SE. That is a useful software-generation distinction, but the available comparison does not establish update duration, camera differences, or independent performance results. Confirm device-specific official specifications for the features that matter to you before paying extra.
Do not decide on the battery figure alone
The reported capacity advantage belongs to a secondary comparison with inconsistent product-box data. Until Xiaomi’s own specifications corroborate those figures, it is not a sound basis for a firm battery-life verdict.
