To get a Solomon Islands IP address while abroad, connect to a VPN provider that currently offers a Solomon Islands or Honiara exit location, then check the public IP and its reported country. A provider’s listing is not proof that the service is available or that every website will recognize the address as Solomon Islands, so verify the location before subscribing and after connecting.
How to get a Solomon Islands IP address from abroad
- Confirm the exact exit location. Check the VPN provider’s current server list or app for “Solomon Islands” or “Honiara.” If it is not clear, ask support whether the service supplies a Solomon Islands-associated exit IP and whether the location is physical or virtual. A general claim about a large global network does not establish that this country is included.
- Install the provider’s official app and sign in. CometVPN describes using its apps on Android, iOS, Mac, or Windows before selecting its Solomon Islands pool. These are the provider’s stated steps, not independently tested instructions. See CometVPN’s Solomon Islands location page.
- Select the location and connect. Choose Solomon Islands or Honiara in the app, if available, and wait for the connection status to confirm that the VPN is active.
- Check the public IP and country. Visit an IP lookup service and review the reported country. While connected, websites generally see the VPN exit’s public address rather than your ordinary public IP, as explained by Surflare’s IP-address guide. The result is an estimate from a geolocation database, not a guarantee of what every website will see.
What the available provider evidence does—and does not—show
CometVPN markets a Honiara server and says, “Any VPN provider that has Solomon Islands VPN servers in their pool will allow you to get such an IP address.” That is the company’s description, not independent confirmation that its service currently works, that the exit address consistently geolocates to Solomon Islands, or that a particular third-party site accepts it. Verify the current listing with the provider before paying.
Provider location pages and menus can change. For example, ExpressVPN’s virtual-location page, updated July 16, 2026, explains that an IP can be associated with a selected country even when the physical server is elsewhere; Solomon Islands is not included in the virtual locations enumerated on that page. That omission alone does not establish whether the company offers any other Solomon Islands-related option. Read ExpressVPN’s virtual-location information.
Private Internet Access reported on September 30, 2026, that it had expanded to 170 locations across 104 countries and territories, and likewise explains how a virtual location can assign an IP associated with a place while hosting the hardware elsewhere. The locations in that announcement do not include Solomon Islands, so the figures are context about virtual locations, not evidence that PIA offers a Solomon Islands exit. Why an IP location may not be the server’s physical location
A “Solomon Islands IP” usually means that the address is registered or classified as associated with Solomon Islands. It does not, by itself, prove that the VPN machine is physically inside the country. With a virtual location, the IP’s apparent country can match the selected location while the underlying hardware is hosted elsewhere. If physical presence matters to you, ask the provider directly; a country selector alone cannot establish it.
How to check the result and troubleshoot a mismatch
An IP lookup can show the public address and database-reported country, city, or network operator. The details vary between lookup services, and geolocation databases can disagree or take time to reflect changes. IP2Location’s lookup demo illustrates the kinds of location data such a service may return. Checking more than one database can give you a useful cross-check, but it does not guarantee that a particular website uses the same data.

- If the lookup shows your usual country, reconnect and confirm that the app still shows the Solomon Islands location.
- If it continues to show the wrong country, ask the VPN provider to confirm the exit IP and its expected geolocation before relying on it.
- If a lookup shows Solomon Islands but a website does not behave as expected, that website may use different location data or its own VPN restrictions. The available evidence does not establish a fix or guarantee access to streaming, banking, or other services.
Consumer VPNs are different from Solomon Telekom’s business IP-VPN
Solomon Telekom describes an IP-VPN as a private network for connecting business sites over its infrastructure, with delivery options including copper, fibre, microwave, and VSAT.
