You can reveal a Wi-Fi password saved on your own device in Windows 11, Windows 10, or macOS. Windows 11 has a Show control in Wi-Fi settings; Windows 10 uses the classic Network and Sharing Center. On Macs, use the Passwords app in macOS Sequoia 15 or later, or copy the password from Network settings in macOS Ventura or later.

  1. Open the Passwords app and select Wi-Fi in the sidebar. If the sidebar is hidden, show it.
  2. Select the network. The connected network appears at the top; other saved networks are listed below.
  3. Hover over the dots beside Password to reveal it, or click the dots to copy it.

Apple documents this workflow for macOS Sequoia 15 and macOS Tahoe 26 in its guide to finding and sharing a Wi-Fi password on Mac.

Copy it from Network settings in macOS Ventura or later

  1. Open Apple menu > System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced.
  2. Find the network, select its More button, then choose Copy Password.
  3. Paste the copied password into a suitable text field to view it.

Apple lists this as a Ventura-or-later route in its Wi-Fi password help. Menu names can vary across macOS releases. For Sonoma or earlier, Apple also describes saved-password access through System Settings > Passwords or Safari > Settings > Passwords; authentication may require Touch ID or your Mac user account password. See Apple’s guide to saved passwords and passkeys on Mac for version-specific details.

Why a saved network may be missing

A network that does not appear may not have been saved on this computer, or its saved profile may no longer be available. These device settings reveal passwords available to the signed-in user; they do not retrieve arbitrary network credentials.

  • Ask the network owner, the person or internet provider who set it up, or staff responsible for a public or shared network.
  • If you administer the router, check its administrator page or app, router label, or documentation.
  • For a work- or school-managed computer or network, contact the administrator.

Apple also lists these recovery options in its Wi-Fi password help article.
