Samsung’s phone has the larger stated battery; Nothing lists faster charging. There is no reliable universal price gap because the available prices refer to different countries, dates and configurations.
Nothing Phone (4a) vs Samsung Galaxy M47 5G specifications
The figures below come from comparison databases and launch reporting, not independent performance or camera testing. Some specifications differ between sources, so the table identifies those conflicts rather than implying a precision the available listings do not support.

Which phone has the better camera setup?
On listed hardware, Phone (4a) offers more variety for zoom photography: its dedicated periscope telephoto camera is reported to provide 3.5× optical zoom. The M47’s listed secondary cameras are an ultra-wide and a macro camera, so its specification sheet does not show a comparable dedicated telephoto lens.
That is a difference in camera options, not proof that Nothing takes better photos. Megapixel counts and lens types cannot establish image quality, low-light performance, focus speed or video quality; no comparative test results are available here.

Battery capacity and charging: Samsung is larger, Nothing charges faster
The M47’s reported 6,000 mAh capacity exceeds both Phone (4a) figures found in the cited sources: 5,080 mAh in Nothing Community’s announcement and 5,400 mAh in 91mobiles. The discrepancy means buyers should check the exact regional specification before relying on one Phone (4a) capacity figure. The listed charging rates point the other way: 50 W for Nothing versus 45 W for Samsung.
Capacity and charging wattage do not determine how long a phone lasts in ordinary use or how quickly it charges from empty. Those outcomes depend on usage, software, network conditions and charging equipment; the sources here do not establish a comparative battery-runtime or charging test.
Display, chipset and software differences
Display size and panel
Both phones are listed with 120 Hz AMOLED-family displays. The M47’s diagonal is reported as either 6.66 or 6.70 inches by different comparison sites, while Nothing’s 6.78-inch figure and resolution are listed by 91mobiles. These listings suggest Nothing has the larger panel, but the M47 size should not be treated as settled without checking the relevant regional model.
Chipset
Secondary listings identify the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 in Phone (4a) and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in the M47. These model names alone do not establish which phone is faster in gaming, sustained workloads or everyday use; no comparable benchmark testing is cited.
Software and updates
Secondary reporting lists Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1 on Phone (4a), and Android 16 with One UI 8.5 on the M47. The M47 launch report specifies up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security patches. A matching first-party Nothing update commitment is not established by the cited sources, so buyers who prioritize long support should verify Nothing’s current policy directly before choosing.

A direct price gap cannot be calculated fairly from the available figures. Nothing’s UK store showed £379 for the selected 8 GB/128 GB configuration when checked (Nothing UK store). Nothing Community’s March 2026 launch announcement listed different market prices: £349 for 8 GB/128 GB; ₹31,999 for 8 GB/128 GB; €349 for 8 GB/128 GB; ₹34,999 and €389 for 8 GB/256 GB; and £399, ₹37,999 and €429 for 12 GB/256 GB (Nothing Community announcement). These are announcement-era prices, not a current worldwide price list.
Cinco Días / Smartlife reported an India launch price of ₹22,999 for the M47 in June 2026, with sales due to begin July 4 (Cinco Días / Smartlife). Samsung India’s store page currently displays “Not for sale” and does not provide usable price fields (Samsung India store). The report and store page also differ on the listed M47 configuration: launch reporting describes 6 GB/128 GB, while Samsung’s page identifies an 8 GB/128 GB variant and offers a 256 GB storage selector. Availability and exact country SKU therefore need confirmation.
For a useful price comparison, check both phones from retailers in the same country, with the same storage capacity and the same date of purchase. Currency conversions between a UK Nothing listing and an India Samsung launch price do not produce a meaningful saving comparison.
Release timing and regional availability
Nothing Community says global preorders for Phone (4a) began March 5, 2026, and open sales began March 13. Comparison databases also use March 5 as a launch date, which appears to refer to the announcement or preorder start rather than open sales. Its listed launch configurations and prices are market-specific (Nothing Community announcement; 91mobiles comparison).
The M47 launch report concerns India, with sales reported to start July 4, 2026. The official Samsung India page’s “Not for sale” status is a snapshot and does not establish permanent discontinuation or availability in other markets. Check the local seller and exact model variant before ordering.
Which should you choose?
- Choose Phone (4a) if a dedicated telephoto camera and reported 3.5× optical zoom matter more than battery capacity, or if its local price and storage option make better sense for you.
- Consider the Galaxy M47 5G if you want the larger listed battery, prefer Samsung’s One UI ecosystem, or value the update commitment reported for this model—provided it is available at a competitive price in your country.
- Compare them directly if your decision depends on gaming speed, camera quality or all-day endurance. The specifications do not answer those performance questions, and no matched testing is available here.
Neither model is a universal winner on the evidence available: Phone (4a) has the more versatile listed zoom hardware, while the M47 has the higher stated battery capacity and a reported, specific update promise. The price and availability check in your own market may decide the purchase.
