De garantie geldt niet voor elk toestel: onder meer het aankoopkanaal, je Vodafone-klantstatus, de staat van de telefoon en je aankoopbewijs bepalen of je in aanmerking komt. Dien de claim in bij een Vodafone en Ziggo-winkel.
Wanneer kom je in aanmerking voor de Vodafone Batterij Garantie?
De voorwaarden van Vodafone Libertel B.V. van 12 januari 2026 gelden voor telefoons die na 8 september 2022 zijn gekocht via een officieel Vodafone-verkoopkanaal. De batterij moet binnen drie jaar na aankoop onder 80% capaciteit zijn gezakt. De controle moet bevestigen dat het om de originele batterij gaat.
- Aankoopkanaal: de telefoon moet zijn gekocht in een officiële Vodafone en Ziggo-winkel, via vodafone.nl of bij Vodafone Telesales. Aankopen bij partners vallen buiten deze regeling.
- Vodafone-abonnement: op het moment van aanvragen moet je nog een Vodafone-abonnement op je eigen naam hebben.
- Aankoopbewijs: je moet een kassabon of factuur kunnen tonen waarop het IMEI-nummer van de telefoon staat.
- Staat en type toestel: refurbished telefoons zijn uitgesloten. Een beschadigd toestel voldoet niet zonder meer; zie de uitleg over andere schade hieronder.
Vodafone omschrijft de regeling als beschikbaar voor particuliere en kleinzakelijke klanten. De concrete voorwaarden bepalen de toelating, dus een zakelijke overeenkomst betekent niet automatisch dat je toestel in aanmerking komt. Laat Vodafone je situatie beoordelen.
Hoe controleer je de batterijcapaciteit?
Op een iPhone vind je de waarde via Instellingen → Batterij → Batterijconditie → Maximumcapaciteit. Op Android verschilt de route per merk en model; Vodafone verwijst naar de toestelinstellingen of een batterij-app. Een winkel kan de capaciteit ook controleren. De zichtbare waarde is nuttig als eerste indicatie, maar de claim vereist een controle die de batterijvoorwaarde bevestigt.

Zo dien je een claim in
- Verzamel je gegevens. Neem je aankoopbewijs met het IMEI-nummer en een geldig identiteitsbewijs mee.
- Maak een back-up. Zet je gegevens veilig voordat je de telefoon inlevert. Vodafone wijst erop dat het niet verantwoordelijk is voor dataverlies.
- Maak het toestel gereed. Schakel op een iPhone ‘Zoek mijn iPhone’ uit. Verwijder of deactiveer fysieke simkaarten en eSIM-profielen. Vraag de winkel om hulp als je niet zeker weet hoe je een eSIM deactiveert.
- Breng de telefoon naar een Vodafone en Ziggo-winkel. Daar kan Vodafone de batterij controleren. Volgens de supportinformatie wordt het toestel daarna naar reparatiespecialist Dynafix gestuurd.
- Volg de beoordeling. Vodafone noemt een gemiddelde doorlooptijd van ongeveer een week en meldt dat het gerepareerde toestel thuis wordt afgeleverd. De productinformatie vermeldt e-mailupdates tijdens het proces.
Wat als je telefoon andere schade heeft?
De batterijvervanging zelf is gratis als je claim aan de voorwaarden voldoet. Als Vodafone of de reparatiespecialist ook andere schade aantreft, krijg je informatie over de schade en de bijbehorende kosten. Volgens de voorwaarden moet je akkoord gaan met de betaalde reparatie voordat de batterij alsnog gratis kan worden vervangen. Weiger je die reparatie, dan kan de batterijvervanging niet worden uitgevoerd.

Hoe verhoudt de regeling zich tot je wettelijke rechten?
Vodafone zegt dat de Batterij Garantie de wettelijke garantie niet vervangt. De voorwaarden beschrijven de regeling als aanvullend op wettelijke rechten en verwijzen in hun toelichting op batterijduurzaamheid naar EU-Verordening 2023/1670. Of je daarnaast een wettelijke claim hebt, hangt af van de feiten en het toepasselijke recht; beoordeel die rechten dus niet als beperkt door Vodafone’s aanvullende regeling.
