Start with the seller or platform that holds your order: Pokémon Center, Nintendo eShop, and other retailers have different cancellation rules. Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition were released on October 16, 2025, so an order today may already be processing, shipped, or fulfilled. Sign in to the account used to buy it, open the order details, and check for a cancel or edit option. If the order is already moving through fulfillment, contact the seller promptly about any remaining delivery, return, or refund options.
The instructions below reflect the cited US-market support guidance unless marked as UK guidance. Policies and available controls can vary by order and location.
Can I cancel or change my Pokémon Legends: Z-A order?
Possibly, but eligibility depends on where you ordered and the order’s status. Cancellation is not the same as changing an order: Pokémon Center, for example, does not change preorder addresses, while some retailer orders may offer edits before processing. Check the seller’s order page first; a missing cancellation control can mean the order is no longer eligible, but the seller can confirm what options remain.
The Pokémon Company announced October 16, 2025, as the release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (official release announcement). Because that date has passed, use the order’s current status rather than assuming a preorder cancellation window is still open.

Cancel a Pokémon Center preorder
Pokémon Center allows preorder cancellation only before processing. For an account order, sign in and follow these steps:
- Open Order Details for the preorder.
- Select Cancel Preorder and confirm.
- Check that the order status changes to Canceled; Pokémon Center says it sends a confirmation email.
For a guest order, use Pokémon Center’s Order Status page with the order ID and the postal code entered at checkout. Pokémon Center says the status may take up to 24 hours to update after a cancellation request.

- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
Change the shipping address
Pokémon Center says it cannot change addresses on preorders. If the order has not been processed and the game remains available, its suggested option is to cancel and place a new order using the correct address. Availability for the replacement order is not guaranteed, so confirm it is available before canceling if you still want to buy from Pokémon Center.
Understand pending card amounts and shipped orders
Pokémon Center says it charges the card when the order ships and may reauthorize it shortly before shipping. A pending authorization is not necessarily a completed charge; after cancellation, a temporary authorization may remain until your financial institution releases it. Contact your bank or card issuer if it does not clear within its expected timeframe.

Pokémon Center distinguishes preorders from ordinary placed orders: placed orders generally cannot be canceled or modified. If an item has shipped and could not be canceled, the company says non-final-sale items may be returned within 30 days of delivery. Check the item’s eligibility and the retailer’s return instructions; a return after delivery is not a preorder cancellation.
Cancel a Nintendo eShop digital preorder
Nintendo’s North American support guidance ties cancellation to payment processing and preload. It says a preorder can be canceled before payment is processed and the game is preloaded, up to seven days before release. The payment is not processed earlier than seven days before release, so check promptly as that window approaches.

| Seller | What the support guidance says | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Best Buy | The cancellation period depends on delivery method and order stage. A preorder placed five or more days before release can be canceled any time while it remains a preorder. If placed fewer than five days before release, the remaining window depends on shipping method. Digital content, including game downloads, cannot be canceled. | Check the order page for a cancellation control and any return options if the window has passed. See Best Buy’s preorder guidance. |
| GameStop | Whether an online preorder can be canceled depends on how it was placed and how close it is to release; the support guidance does not provide one universal deadline. For an in-store reservation, GameStop directs customers to Customer Service or the store where they reserved it. | Use the order channel’s own instructions or contact the store or GameStop Customer Service; do not assume an online-order process applies to an in-store reservation. |
| Walmart | Most pickup, delivery, and shipping orders can be edited or cancellation requested before processing. Options can disappear once an order is on its way, and Walmart notes limits for marketplace sellers and some shipping orders. | Go to Account → Purchase history, open the order, and select Request Cancellation if available. See Walmart’s order help. |
| Amazon | The available Amazon source is UK guidance for physical items and does not establish US preorder policy. It says an unshipped physical item can be canceled through Your Orders; do not assume that rule applies to Amazon US. | For an Amazon US order, check its details and contact Amazon if no cancellation or change control appears. The cited Amazon UK help page is not proof of US terms. |
If the order is already processing or shipped
- Ask the seller promptly whether it can still stop fulfillment or change delivery details; do not assume it can.
- If it cannot be canceled, ask whether delivery refusal, a return after delivery, or another remedy is available under that seller’s terms.
- For a delivered Pokémon Center item, check whether it is non-final-sale and within the stated 30-day return period before relying on a return.
- Keep the order number and any cancellation confirmation until the status and payment outcome are resolved.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
