If something is missing, first check whether your model is eligible and the update has arrived. To suggest a change, use Settings feedback; to document a reproducible fault, create a bug report and share it with Google support.
Why do Pixel features change?
Google describes Pixel updates as a mix of new features, security enhancements, operating-system updates, and bug fixes. Updates roll out gradually by device and carrier, and Google says it can take a few weeks for an update to reach a phone. That means Pixel owners may not receive an update or feature at the same time.
Google also says optional Usage & diagnostics information may help improve products and services. The information can include device performance and usage patterns, such as battery and thermal performance, sensor and component performance, software stability, app-use frequency, and network connection quality and duration. Google names battery life, crash and freeze reliability, and long-term software support as areas it may improve using this information. This broad description does not establish why a specific feature changed.
The official help pages cited here do not explain the reason for any particular feature redesign or removal, or describe a universal decision-making process for such changes. Unless Google has made a feature-specific statement, the cause of that change is not established.

Why might a Pixel feature be missing?
A missing feature is not necessarily a removed feature. Availability may depend on the Pixel model, carrier, Android version, rollout timing, language, or country. Check the phone’s system update status and the official support or eligibility information for your exact model before concluding that Google has removed the feature.
Google’s update policy, accessed in 2026, says Pixel 8 and later receive seven years of updates, while Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 generation models and Pixel Fold receive five years. The period is measured from when each device first became available on the Google Store in the US. The policy covers OS and security updates and may include new or upgraded Pixel Drop features; it does not promise that every feature will be available on every model. Choose the right way to contact Google

Send general feedback about a Pixel feature
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap About phone.
- Tap Send feedback about this device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to describe your suggestion or comment.
For discussion with other Pixel owners, Google also directs users to the Pixel “Phone by Google” Community. If you need help with a current support issue rather than want to suggest a product change, use the Help Center or the phone’s Contact us route instead. Sending feedback does not guarantee an individual reply or a reversal of a feature change. Google’s instructions are at Send feedback about your Pixel to Google.
Report a reproducible Pixel problem
A bug report is for documenting a problem that can be reproduced, rather than offering general product feedback. Google’s instructions note that menu labels can vary by Android version and that some steps apply only to Android 8.0 and later.

- In Settings > About phone, tap Build number seven times to enable Developer options.
- Go to Settings > System > Developer options. Enable USB debugging and accept the prompt, then enable Bug report shortcut.
- When the problem occurs, press and hold Power + Volume Up until the power menu appears, then tap Bug report. Your phone will notify you when the report is ready; Google says this can take up to two minutes.
- From the capture notification, save the report to Drive. Attach it in a reply to the email from your customer service agent, and grant link access so Pixel experts can open the file.
- When finished, turn off Use developer options and restart the phone, as Google advises.
Google lists additional logging settings for particular cases: verbose vendor logging for cellular issues, and Bluetooth HCI snoop logging plus a larger logger buffer for Bluetooth issues. These are issue-specific advanced options, not requirements for every bug report. A report is a diagnostic file, so share it only through the support request you intend to answer and follow Google’s sharing instructions. See Google’s bug-report instructions.

For straightforward problems, Google recommends restarting the phone, updating apps and system software, and checking in Safe Mode to see whether a downloaded app is involved. Follow the Pixel phone troubleshooting and support guidance for steps suited to your issue.

On Pixel 6 and later, Device health & support can show device and feature status, help options, and repair entry points. Google lists Pixel Help for Pixel 9 and later in English, German, and Japanese. Most diagnostics are available on Pixel 6 and later; touch diagnostics are limited to Pixel 9 and later; calls, mobile data, and Wi-Fi diagnostics are listed for Pixel 11 series in the US. These capabilities can change, so check Google’s current guide to Pixel device support and diagnostics for your model and region.
To reach Google, use Tips & support on the phone or the Pixel Phone Help Center. The current on-device route differs between Pixel 10 series and Pixel 9a and earlier. In the Help Center, describe the issue and choose a next step to see available options, which can include chat or a call. The Pixel community is useful for peer discussion; official support is the better route for account-specific troubleshooting or a support case.

Control optional Usage & diagnostics
You can turn off the phone’s Usage & diagnostics sharing in settings. Google says opting out does not prevent essential services such as receiving a new Android version. This device-level setting does not control information that individual apps may collect. Read Google’s explanation of Pixel Usage & diagnostics for the information categories and controls.
