The realme P4 is the stronger fit if you want an AMOLED screen, an ultrawide rear camera, a higher-resolution selfie camera, a lighter body, or faster charging. The realme P4x adds stated IP64 protection and keeps the same listed Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset and 7000mAh typical battery, but charges at 45W instead of 80W. Which phone is better value depends on the current price for the same RAM and storage configuration.

Which phone has the better display?
The P4 has the clearer advantage if panel type and resolution matter: realme specifies a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen at 1080 × 2392 pixels and 144Hz. The P4x page describes a slightly smaller 6.72-inch FHD+ display at 144Hz but does not identify it as AMOLED in the available product information.
realme lists 1600-nit HBM and 4500-nit peak brightness for the P4, while the P4x page lists 1000-nit peak brightness. Those brightness figures should not be treated as directly comparable because the pages do not establish that the figures use the same measurement method. Both phones advertise a 144Hz refresh rate, but that specification alone does not establish identical visual quality or performance in every app.

Performance and gaming: same listed chipset, different graphics claims
Both India-market pages list the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G chipset, so the base chipset is not a reason to assume one phone is faster. realme promotes an additional “Dual Chips System” for the P4, including a Hyper Vision AI chip and X7P-related super-resolution and super-frame features. That is an extra graphics and display-processing feature claim, not a different listed main chipset.
Any benchmark or frame-rate figures promoted by realme are vendor or laboratory claims; actual results depend on test conditions, software, and the game being played. The listed specifications do not establish an independent gaming-performance winner.

Battery capacity is equal on paper; charging is not
realme lists a 7000mAh typical battery for both phones. For the P4, its specification page also gives a 6830mAh minimum capacity and lists 80W Ultra Charge. The P4x supports 45W charging, and realme says reaching the maximum rate requires its 45W charger and original cable. Battery-life figures published by realme are manufacturer claims, not a promise of a particular number of hours in everyday use.
Camera differences: more options on the P4, but no proven image-quality winner
The P4’s rear camera setup pairs a 50MP main camera with an 8MP wide-angle camera; its front camera is 16MP. realme lists rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps for the P4. The P4x page lists a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and a 4K video claim, alongside AI image features.

The P4 gives you a dedicated wide-angle option and a higher-resolution selfie-camera specification. Megapixel counts and feature lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; that requires comparable sample images and testing.
Size, durability, connectivity, and software
The P4 is the slimmer, lighter phone at approximately 185g and 7.58mm, compared with the P4x at 208g and 8.39mm. That difference may matter if you carry your phone for long periods or prefer a less bulky device.

realme states that the P4x has IP64 resistance and military-grade certified durability. The company’s IP64 disclaimer says testing took place under controlled laboratory conditions and that resistance may diminish with use; do not treat the rating as a guarantee against damage in every situation. For the P4, the cited India specification page does not state a protection rating.
The P4 specifications list dual SIM, USB-C, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 5/Wi-Fi 6 support, as well as realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. realme identifies Android 15 as the P4x’s software basis and notes that functions and availability can vary by region or version. These details refer to the India-market pages; specifications for other markets may differ.

India prices: compare the same configuration before deciding
On October 4, 2026, a realme Store listing showed the P4 Steel Grey 8GB+128GB at ₹30,999, with a displayed MRP of ₹45,999 and offers. A realme Store catalog result showed the P4x at ₹26,999 against ₹38,999, but the result did not establish a matching RAM and storage configuration or clearly separate a live offer from the regular selling price. These are observed listings, not guaranteed current prices. Check the realme India Store before buying.
Because the P4x listing’s configuration and offer conditions are unclear, the two observed figures do not establish a verified ₹4,000 price difference. For a fair comparison, match RAM and storage first, then compare the final payable price using the same assumptions for bank discounts, exchange offers, and other promotions.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the realme P4 if
- You want an AMOLED display with the P4’s specified 1080 × 2392 resolution.
- You want an 8MP wide-angle rear camera and a 16MP front-camera specification.
- You prefer a lighter, thinner phone.
- 80W charging matters more to you than the P4x’s 45W charging.
- You value realme’s additional graphics and display-processing features promoted for the P4.
Consider the realme P4x if
- It costs less than the P4 for the exact same RAM and storage configuration after applicable offers.
- You value its stated IP64 resistance and durability positioning, while recognizing realme’s controlled-testing caveat.
- You are comfortable with 45W charging and the listed 8MP front camera.
- You want a 144Hz FHD+ display and the same listed chipset and typical battery capacity as the P4.
