Electronic Arts announced versions for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS—not PC. So the choice is among those console and handheld editions, rather than between PC and console.
Was The Simpsons Game released for PC?
EA’s October 2007 shipped-game announcement lists six platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. It does not list a PC version. GameSpot’s platform records also omit PC. These records establish the platforms announced for the original release; they are not a live check of unofficial fan projects that may exist today.

EA described the game as an original story written by the TV show’s writers and voiced by the original cast, with more than 40 minutes of new animated scenes. Its announcement said it had shipped in North America on October 30, 2007. EA’s release announcement is the primary source for the launch details.
Which original version should you play?
Choose based on the hardware you have and whether you want a home-console game or a handheld experience. The available platform records do not establish a comprehensive quality ranking across every edition, so there is no evidence-based universal “best” version.
#1 Best Overall
- Mission-based driving game featuring the cast of the Simpsons
- New story and dialogue crafted by writers from The Simpsons television show
- All character voices supplied by the cast of The Simpsons television show
- Over 56 missions in 7 huge levels
- For one or more players
Choose Nintendo DS for a distinct handheld design
Secondary coverage describes the DS edition as a separately developed, side-scrolling adventure. It should be treated as a distinct version, not assumed to be the same build as the home-console editions. A secondary overview also reports that a Cop Marge power-up appears only on PS3 and Xbox 360; because that detail is not supported by a complete official feature comparison, verify it against the specific edition before using it to decide. The version overview provides this secondary account.
Choose a home-console edition if you want to play on a TV
EA announced home-console versions for PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, and Wii. The platform list confirms their release, but the available records do not provide a complete, authoritative comparison of graphics, performance, or feature differences between them. Match the copy to your console rather than assuming the editions are interchangeable.
Rank #2
- Includes collectible trading card
- Works with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Choose PSP for portable play outside the DS version
PSP was also in EA’s announced lineup. It is a separate platform edition; the available evidence does not establish a full feature-by-feature comparison with the DS or home-console versions.
What do the ratings say?
The ESRB rates the main record for PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, and Xbox 360 Teen. Its descriptors are alcohol and tobacco reference, animated blood, cartoon violence, crude humor, language, and suggestive themes. The separate DS record is also Teen, with alcohol and tobacco references, animated blood, cartoon violence, crude humor, and mild language; suggestive themes are not among its displayed descriptors. Consult the records for the edition you plan to play: ESRB main-platform rating and ESRB Nintendo DS rating.

Quick Recap
Best Value
Rank #4
- The UNO game players love features graphics inspired by characters from the series The Simpsons.
- Game play mirrors the classic card game where players match colors and numbers to get rid of all their cards.
- The special 'Woo-hoo! D'OH!' rule adds a fun twist, where a player may be safe (Woo-hoo!) or may have to add cards (D'OH!)!
- Unique patterns on each card help identify the color(s) on that card, allowing players with any form of color blindness to play!
- When down to one card, players don't yell, 'Ay Caramba' -- they yell, 'UNO!'
How to choose a copy today
- Start with your hardware. Pick a release for a console or handheld you own; EA’s original announcement does not include PC.
- Decide whether you want the distinct DS adventure. Its side-scrolling design makes it a different choice from the home-console editions.
- Check region, condition, and included items. For a physical copy, confirm that the game is compatible with your hardware and region, and inspect the seller’s description. Current stock and resale prices are not established by the historical launch announcement.
