That is a ₹2,000 listed gap, but not a like-for-like storage comparison. The 15A lists a larger 6,300mAh battery; the 15C lists 33W charging, a 50MP main camera and an IP64 rating. These figures compare an India retail snapshot with specifications from Xiaomi’s India and global product pages, so check the version sold in your market.
Redmi 15C vs Redmi 15A 5G: key specifications
The headline differences are battery capacity, charging, camera resolution, base storage, software support information and ingress-protection ratings. Both Xiaomi product pages describe a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate; the global 15C specifications state 1600 × 720 resolution. The 91mobiles comparison also lists 1600 × 720 for the 15A.

India price difference: ₹2,000, but storage differs
The Xiaomi India store listing accessed on October 4, 2026 showed the Redmi 15A 5G 4GB/64GB at ₹16,499 and the Redmi 15C 5G 4GB/128GB at ₹18,499. The difference between those listed prices was ₹2,000. These are observed store prices, not fixed launch prices or a promise of today’s price; promotions and listings can change.

The 15C configuration in that comparison has twice the base storage of the 15A listing. A buyer should compare the price of the exact RAM and storage option available locally rather than treat the ₹2,000 gap as a clean same-spec premium. Xiaomi lists additional 15C storage configurations globally, but regional availability is not guaranteed. The store listing is Xiaomi India’s product store.
Battery capacity versus charging speed
Redmi 15A: larger stated capacity
Xiaomi India lists a typical 6,300mAh battery for the 15A, 300mAh more than the 15C’s listed 6,000mAh typical capacity. That is a capacity comparison, not evidence that the 15A lasts longer in actual use: screen settings, signal strength, workload and software all affect runtime, and no independent battery testing is available here.

Redmi 15C: faster wired charging
The 15C lists 33W fast charging, while the 15A lists 15W charging. Xiaomi India also lists 7.5W wired reverse charging for the 15A. Charging time depends on the charger, cable, battery level and conditions; the wattage figures alone do not establish a full-charge time.
Camera specifications: 50MP versus 32MP
Xiaomi lists a 50MP main rear camera for the 15C and a 32MP AI dual camera for the 15A. The 15C therefore leads on the stated main-camera resolution, while the comparison source lists an 8MP front camera for each phone. Megapixels do not determine photo quality by themselves; sensor, lens, processing and shooting conditions matter. No independent camera testing was reviewed, so these specifications do not establish which phone takes better pictures.

Display, software and durability
Similar display headline figures
Both models are described as having a 6.9-inch, 120Hz display. Xiaomi’s global 15C page gives 1600 × 720 resolution, while the 91mobiles comparison gives that resolution for the 15A. These are 720p-class screens; the shared size and refresh rate do not establish that brightness, color or viewing quality are identical.
The 15A has the clearer stated update commitment
Xiaomi India says the 15A ships with Android 16 and HyperOS 3 and promises four OS updates and six years of security updates. Xiaomi’s global 15C specification page lists HyperOS 2 but does not state an update commitment. That means the 15A has a clearer published support promise in the pages compared; it does not prove that the 15C will receive no updates.

IP64 and IP52 are not immersion ratings
Xiaomi lists IP64 for the 15C and IP52 for the 15A, giving the 15C the higher stated ingress-protection rating. Neither rating means the phone is safe to submerge. Do not treat either model as waterproof or assume protection against every spill, exposure or condition; follow the manufacturer’s care guidance.

Choose the Redmi 15A 5G if
- You want the lower of the two observed India store prices and the 4GB/64GB listing meets your storage needs.
- You value its larger stated 6,300mAh battery capacity.
- Xiaomi India’s stated Android 16/HyperOS 3 software and update commitment is important to you.
Consider the Redmi 15C 5G if
- You want 128GB in the observed India listing, or a larger listed storage option where it is sold.
- You prioritize the listed 50MP main camera, 33W charging or IP64 rating.
- You would rather pay the observed ₹2,000 difference for those specifications than choose the 15A’s lower listed price and larger stated battery.
This is a specification-based comparison, not a performance, battery or camera test. Regional versions, current prices and available storage options can change the value calculation. Xiaomi’s 15C details cited here are from its global page, while the 15A details are from its India page; verify the exact local variant before buying.
