The realme 14 Pro+ 5G stands out for a rare combination in its class: a 3× optical periscope camera with optical image stabilisation, a large 6,000mAh typical-capacity battery, and a 120Hz OLED display. GSMArena’s review, published 28 January 2025, judged it a well-rounded phone with versatile still cameras and very good battery life, while flagging weak rear-video quality, shallow-sounding speakers, no HDR video support, and performance that was not competitive for its segment.
That makes it a compelling camera-and-endurance option on paper, but not an automatic buy. Its availability, configuration, bundled accessories, network compatibility, warranty, and price depend on the market. The specifications below are from realme’s Saudi regional page unless noted otherwise.
What is the realme 14 Pro+?
The realme 14 Pro+ 5G is a mid-range Android phone built around a versatile rear-camera system, a high-refresh OLED screen, and a large battery. realme’s Saudi specifications list a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. They also list realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15; software and available configurations may differ by country.
Its defining camera is a 50MP telephoto unit with a 3× optical zoom lens. That gives it a more useful dedicated reach for distant subjects and portraits than a phone that relies only on its main camera and digital cropping. GSMArena’s review praised the camera system’s versatility and reliability for still photos, but its broader verdict was not uniformly positive.

These are regional specifications, not a guarantee that every country sells the same configuration or includes the same accessories. Check the exact model offered locally, including supported 5G bands and current software.
What are the realme 14 Pro+’s strengths?
Dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera
The 50MP periscope camera is the clearest differentiator. realme lists a 73mm-equivalent focal length, f/2.65 aperture, and OIS. Alongside the stabilised 50MP main camera and 8MP ultra-wide, it gives the phone three distinct rear-camera perspectives instead of asking the main camera to handle every framing choice.
GSMArena described the still cameras as versatile and reliable in day and night shooting. That is the publication’s review assessment, not a new hands-on test here. The 3× optical camera is especially relevant if you often photograph people or subjects at a distance; it does not, by itself, establish that all zoom levels or video modes are equally strong.

Large battery and high-refresh OLED display
The Saudi specification lists a 6.83-inch OLED display with 2800 × 1272 resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz. GSMArena called the screen bright and battery life very good. The phone’s 6000mAh figure is the typical battery capacity; realme also lists 5860mAh as the minimum capacity.

Stated ingress protection
realme’s India product page says the phone passed IP69, IP68, and IP66 tests. For IP68, realme specifies still, clear water at 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, with the water temperature within 5°C of the device. These are manufacturer claims under stated conditions, not a guarantee that the phone will survive every spill, immersion, or water-related accident.

What are the realme 14 Pro+’s drawbacks?
Rear video quality is a weaker point
Although realme lists rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps, resolution alone does not describe overall video quality. GSMArena judged the rear video quality below par. If video is as important to you as still photography, that review criticism deserves more weight than the headline 4K capability.
No HDR video support and shallow-sounding speakers
GSMArena lists no HDR video support among the cons and describes the stereo speakers as shallow-sounding. Those limitations matter more for people who watch a lot of HDR content on their phone or expect strong, full-bodied sound without headphones.

GSMArena praised performance for ordinary use but also said it was not competitive within the phone’s segment. That distinction matters: the review does not describe everyday use as poor, but it does not position the phone as the strongest choice for demanding gaming or performance-focused buyers.

Availability and regional differences complicate buying
GSMArena characterized availability as limited in its 2025 review. Its comparison and marketplace listings reflect that review’s time and markets, not current stock or pricing everywhere. The regional differences are practical, too: realme’s Saudi page lists an 80W adapter and protective case in the box, while GSMArena reported that the EU retail box had no power adapter. Check the actual listing and local warranty before ordering.

GSMArena’s 2025 review framed the realme 14 Pro+ against the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ and Poco X7 Pro. These are useful trade-off descriptions, not current price comparisons; prices, configurations, and availability should be checked in your market.

Confirm that the same trade-offs still apply to the models and prices currently available where you live.

Is the realme 14 Pro+ waterproof?
No phone should be treated as waterproof on the basis of an IP rating. realme says the device meets IP69, IP68, and IP66 levels, and states that its IP68 test used still, clear water at 1.5 metres for 30 minutes under the conditions described above. The manufacturer says resistance is intended for normal use and may decline over time; immersion-related water damage is not covered by warranty. It also says the phone is not designed for professional diving.
In practical terms, the rating offers a stated level of protection under specific test conditions; it is not permission to deliberately submerge the phone or a promise that water damage will be repaired under warranty.
Should you buy the realme 14 Pro+?
Consider it if you want a dedicated 3× optical camera, a large battery, and a high-refresh OLED screen in one phone, and you are comfortable with the review’s cautions about video, speakers, and segment-relative performance. It is less compelling if gaming performance, HDR video playback, or strong built-in speaker sound is central to your decision.
Before buying, verify the exact regional model, storage and RAM, supported local 5G bands, current software, box contents, warranty, price, and stock. The cited Saudi configuration and GSMArena’s EU box observation show why accessory and specification details should not be assumed to transfer between markets.
