The realme GT 8 China has the stronger published display and chipset specifications, while the realme GT 7 Global lists faster wired charging. The key caveat is that this is not a like-for-like regional comparison: the GT 8 evidence here is for the China-market model, and its availability, warranty, network support, and price may differ where you live.

Which phone has better performance and display specifications?
Chipset
NanoReview identifies the China GT 8 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and the Global GT 7 with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e. These are distinct platforms, but chipset names alone do not establish how much faster one phone feels in a particular app, game, or sustained workload. NanoReview also compiles AnTuTu 11 scores of 3,336,910 for the GT 8 and 2,505,807 for the GT 7, based on 10 and 30 listed tests respectively. Those are third-party aggregated results, not tests conducted for this comparison, and should not be treated as a guaranteed performance difference.
Display
The GT 8 listing has a small size advantage and higher stated resolution and refresh rate: 6.79 inches, 1440 × 3136, and up to 144Hz, compared with the GT 7’s 6.78 inches, 1264 × 2780, and up to 120Hz. On published display specifications, the GT 8 is the stronger option. Brightness figures in the comparison use different labels and may not share measurement conditions, so they are not a reliable direct measure of which screen will look brighter in ordinary use.

How do battery and charging compare?
Both models are listed with 7000mAh batteries, but capacity alone does not establish equal battery life. No comparable runtime test is available here, and actual endurance depends on usage and test conditions.
The listed charging advantage goes to the GT 7: 120W versus 100W for the GT 8. These are stated charging specifications, not a guarantee of identical charging times across outlets, temperatures, battery condition, or regional configurations. realme’s India GT 7 product page also highlights its 7000mAh battery: realme GT 7 India product page.

What is different about the cameras?
Both phones are listed with 50MP main and telephoto cameras plus an 8MP ultrawide. Their telephoto specifications differ: the GT 8 China is reported with 3.5x optical zoom, while the GT 7 Global is listed with 2x optical zoom. Cinco Días’ October 21, 2025 GT 8 launch coverage also describes optical stabilization and an anti-reflective lens for its 50MP main camera, and Ricoh co-design of the camera software. These hardware descriptions do not establish which phone takes better photos; that would require comparable image testing.
What is the realme GT 7 vs GT 8 price difference?
There is no universal price difference because the compared phones are from different regional markets and their prices vary by country, configuration, seller, and date. For an India-specific snapshot, Smartprix listed the GT 7 at ₹41,999 and GT 8 at ₹52,990; its listing details were last updated September 24, 2026. That is a comparison-site listing, not a verified checkout price or confirmation of authorized retail stock. NanoReview lists launch MSRPs of $749 for the GT 7 Global and $410 for the GT 8 China. Because those figures refer to different regional models and launch contexts, subtracting them would not give a meaningful same-market saving. Separately, Cinco Días reported that the GT 8 launched in China at a starting-price equivalent of about €440 in October 2025; that is launch context, not a current European retail price. Its report said European availability had not been announced at that time, which should not be read as a statement about every region today.

The GT 8 specifications being compared are for the China-market model, not a confirmed equivalent local release everywhere. Before importing or purchasing one, confirm that the exact SKU is supported by your carrier, that the seller provides a usable warranty, and that the software configuration meets your needs. Network-band support and local operator implementation can affect compatibility; realme notes this qualification on its regional GT 7 specifications page: realme Singapore GT 7 specifications.
Do not confuse the non-Pro GT 8 in this comparison with the realme GT 8 Pro, which is a separate model with its own specifications. The official Mexico page, for example, is specifically for the Pro: realme GT 8 Pro specifications.
Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the GT 8 China if you prioritize the listed Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, higher-resolution 144Hz display, or 3.5x telephoto specification—and have verified local network compatibility, warranty, and availability.
- Choose the GT 7 Global if you want the listed 120W charging or a Global-market model that may be more straightforward to buy and support in your region. Confirm local availability and warranty rather than assuming all markets offer the same terms.
- Compare current local checkout prices only after confirming both listings are for the intended region and configuration. The India values above are a dated snapshot, not a universal price verdict.
