What is Assetto Corsa Competizione?
ACC is the official GT World Challenge video game. Kunos Simulazioni developed it and 505 Games published it; the PC release date listed by Steam is 29 May 2019. Its focus is GT racing, including sprint and endurance competition and the Spa 24 Hours, in single-player and multiplayer modes. Steam’s listing describes the simulation as modeling factors such as tire grip, aerodynamics, engine parameters, suspension, electronics and mechanical damage. Those are the developer’s stated design features, not an independent assessment of realism.

The game’s official feature description includes races spanning day and night, dynamic weather and changing track conditions. It describes rubber and marbles accumulating as cars run, and wetness responding to rain intensity, sun and temperature. The official ACC site also describes rain, sun and temperature affecting track state.
Can you play ACC with a controller, or do you need a wheel?
A wheel is optional: ACC supports gamepads as well as steering wheels. 505 Games says Windows controllers recognized through DirectInput can be used and specifically lists Logitech G25, G27, G29 and G920 among supported Logitech devices. A Logitech G29 is therefore one named option to consider, but compatibility depends on the precise platform and configuration.

The publisher’s compatibility article was modified 12 September 2023. It cautions that an unlisted device is not necessarily incompatible, but may not be fully supported. Check the exact model and platform against 505 Games’ controller and wheel list before purchasing. The official site says wheel, pedal and controller settings can be customized, and that peripherals have been tested with manufacturers; this is not a guarantee that every configuration behaves identically.
What to check before buying a wheel
- Confirm support for your specific platform, not just the product name.
- Check whether the exact model appears in the publisher’s list; treat unlisted models as uncertain rather than automatically incompatible.
- Compare what is included, such as pedals or a shifter, and account for mounting space and budget.
- Do not assume a more expensive wheel will make you faster; the cited compatibility information establishes device support, not comparative performance.
Does Assetto Corsa Competizione support VR and crossplay?
The official ACC site describes VR and triple-screen support. Steam lists VR support for the PC edition and specifies SteamVR or Oculus PC in its system requirements. Check the current Steam listing for the live PC requirements before purchase; its published specifications include 50 GB of storage.

The official site describes crossplay between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Do not assume that this means crossplay with PC, or that online features and requirements are the same on every platform.

Choose an add-on by the cars, circuits or seasonal content it adds, then compare it with what your game edition already includes. The official site’s catalog lists the GT2 Pack, 2023 GT World Challenge Pack, American Track Pack, Challengers Pack, British GT Pack, 2020 GT World Challenge Pack, GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack and Nürburgring 24h Pack. It also displays a “Free ACC 2025 Season Update” news item dated 22 December 2025. Catalog availability can change, so check your platform’s current store page.

Steam’s listing presents nine add-ons and an Ultimate Edition bundle; Xbox exposes separate add-ons and editions. Store catalogs and bundle contents may differ by platform and region. Platform-specific buying checks
- PC: Review the Steam product page’s edition, DLC and current system requirements.
- Xbox: Check the Xbox listing for the exact edition and add-ons. It states that console online multiplayer requires an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscription, sold separately; that condition applies to the Xbox listing, not automatically to PC or PlayStation.
- PlayStation: Confirm the current PlayStation edition and add-on contents directly in its store; the cited catalog details do not establish that PlayStation and other platforms have identical offers.
