Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsMech Arena combines team battles, solo competition, and a PvE challenge. To make sense of early progression, keep two systems separate: the Progress Path tracks XP and unlocks milestones, while the Gear Hub organizes access to Mechs and Weapons by tier. Before spending upgrade resources, learn what your equipment does and check its current cost and effect in the game; the official material does not establish one best beginner build or upgrade order.
What game modes can beginners play?
Plarium describes Mech Arena as a fast-paced PvP mech shooter. Its game page lists several formats, while the official support index also includes Tournament and Custom Match topics. At a high level, choose a team mode to fight alongside other players, Free-For-All for solo competition, or Onslaught for PvE.
| Mode | Format | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Control Point Clash | 5v5 | Team-based objective play. |
| Deathmatch | 5v5 | Team-based elimination combat. |
| Deathmatch | 2v2 | Small-team combat. |
| Free-For-All | Solo competition | Compete without a team format. |
| Onslaught | PvE | A challenge against AI opponents. |
These are high-level distinctions, not a complete explanation of round rules or rewards. Mode availability, maps, rotations, and detailed rules can change; check the in-game mode description or the relevant current support article before planning around them. Plarium’s game page lists the modes, and the official support center indexes additional topics.
How does progression work?
There are two progression questions: what your account has unlocked, and which Mechs or Weapons you can access. The Progress Path handles the first through XP milestones; the Gear Hub handles the second through equipment tiers. Advancing one does not automatically advance the other.

Progress Path: XP and feature milestones
According to Plarium’s Progress Path article, updated July 7, 2026, players can earn XP from battles, regular objectives, and event objectives. It lists a daily limit of up to 500 XP from battles and up to another 500 XP from regular Daily and Weekly Objectives. Those are stated limits, not a guarantee that every player will earn that amount each day.
The same article gives Pilot Access at 1,000 XP and Squad Presets at 10,000 XP as examples of feature milestones. XP limits and thresholds can change, so confirm the figures shown in your client. See Plarium’s Progress Path guide.

Gear Hub: equipment access and tier unlocking
The Gear Hub—called the Market in one support article—is where the game organizes Mechs and Weapons. Plarium’s guide describes eight sequential tiers. To unlock the next tier, earn Tier Stars from items in the immediately preceding tier. Acquiring a Mech or Weapon grants stars corresponding to its rank; each rank-up adds one more star.
An event or offer may let you acquire an item from a tier that is still locked. You can use that item in battle, but owning it does not unlock its tier. For the mechanics, see Plarium’s Market guide and the Gear Hub FAQ.

What should you understand before upgrading?
Mechs have different abilities and play styles, while Weapons are configurable equipment. The game also has Mods, Pilots, and cybernetic Implants as customization systems. That is enough to frame the decision—consider what a Mech’s ability does and how a Weapon fits your preferred configuration—but not enough to name a universally best beginner setup. Current effectiveness, balance, and upgrade costs are not established by the official overview.
- Read what you own. Check each Mech’s ability and play-style description, then read the Weapon and customization descriptions in the client.
- Choose around your own preference. Decide whether you want a particular Mech ability or Weapon configuration rather than assuming one item is best for everyone.
- Check before committing resources. Review the current in-game cost and upgrade effect for the specific item. Do not rely on a general upgrade order or old cost claim when the client provides the current details.
- Reassess as you unlock options. New equipment and customization systems may change which choices suit you; base later upgrades on what you actually use and the descriptions currently shown in-game.
This is a cautious way to make early decisions, not a tested build recommendation. Plarium’s game overview and support index describe the available systems, but do not establish a definitive upgrade sequence.
