Where to find the Cafe Mold
The walkthrough places the sample in a Mold-covered cafe in The Park, during the The Park Resonant quest. Its reported HUD direction is to search Park Valley for new Mold strains. Inside, look for an illuminated round table near the counter and a warning sign; the item on the table is labeled “Piece of Delicious Mold.”
These location details come from one walkthrough, not an official map or transcript. The official PlayStation Blog overview discusses Control Resonant’s systems but does not identify this cafe or sample.
What happens before Dylan eats it
After Dylan discusses the sample’s smell with Zoe, the walkthrough reports that she warns him not to eat it. It describes smell comparisons including fresh bread with butter and jam, gummy bears, popcorn, and honey. The first reported response wheel has four choices:

Does Dylan survive eating the Cafe Mold?
According to the walkthrough, Dylan picks up and eats the sample, then experiences a short green vision. During it, a second response wheel reportedly offers “Protect” at the top, “Search” on the left, and “Grow” on the right; the guide also reports the line “Spread swell.”
Dylan reportedly returns from the vision and answers Zoe. He says he could not stop himself, says he is still himself, and continues to sense the Mold’s call. Zoe is surprised he survived, tells him not to answer that call, and refuses further taste tests. The account describes survival through this immediate scene; it does not establish broader consequences beyond it.

Remedy’s Miika Huttunen describes the game’s dialogue as a “seamless dialogue system” that can unfold during exploration in the official PlayStation Blog article. The article also discusses Mold Turrets, which attack independently and apply harmful status effects, and branching choices tied to some Resonant abilities. That is context about the game, not confirmation of the Cafe Mold scene, its menu text, or its outcome.
A Game Informer Gamescom preview broadly corroborates that preview gameplay showed Dylan eating Mold and encountering dialogue choices. It does not identify the Cafe Mold options or explain what happens afterward. For the exact cafe sequence, the available account is the NerdsChalk walkthrough, updated September 25, 2026; its details should not be mistaken for an official transcript.
