Yes—Cyberpunk 2077 supports PC-to-console cross-progression, community mods, and a range of PC hardware targets. To judge whether your PC is suitable, match your CPU, graphics card, memory, storage, resolution, and ray-tracing settings to CD PROJEKT RED’s published requirements. For cross-saves, sign in with your CD PROJEKT RED account; for mods, check compatibility with your game version before installing.
Can your PC run Cyberpunk 2077?
Use the tier that matches how you intend to play: resolution, graphics preset, and whether ray tracing is enabled. The figures below are CD PROJEKT RED’s published targets from its June 11, 2023 requirements announcement—not new 2026 measurements. The publisher says its expected frame rates come from internal testing and can vary with hardware, software, resolution, and settings. See the official PC requirements announcement.
| Mode and tier | Publisher target | CPU | Graphics card | RAM / VRAM | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Non-RT Minimum | 1080p Low, expected average 30 FPS | Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB, or Intel Arc A380 | 12 GB RAM; 6 GB VRAM | 70 GB SSD |
| Non-RT Recommended | 1080p High, expected 60 FPS | Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A770 | 16 GB RAM; 8 GB VRAM | 70 GB SSD |
| Non-RT Ultra | 2160p Ultra, expected 60 FPS | Intel Core i9-12900 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX | 20 GB RAM; 12 GB VRAM | 70 GB NVMe |
| RT Minimum | 1080p RT Low, expected 30 FPS | Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, or Intel Arc A750 | 16 GB RAM; 8 GB VRAM | 70 GB SSD |
| RT Recommended | 1080p RT Ultra, expected 60 FPS | Intel Core i9-12900 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX | 20 GB RAM; 12 GB VRAM | 70 GB NVMe |
| RT Overdrive | 2160p RT Overdrive, expected 60 FPS | Intel Core i9-12900 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 | 24 GB RAM; 16 GB VRAM | 70 GB NVMe |
The Overdrive target used DLSS Frame Generation. A PC audio setup containing Dolby Atmos is required for a Dolby Atmos experience.
How to choose the right tier
- Choose by target, not by the word “minimum.” The minimum tier is for 1080p Low with an expected average of 30 FPS; it is not a high-quality target.
- Check the exact graphics mode. Ray tracing has separate requirements, and RT Overdrive is a distinct high-end target.
- Compare memory and storage too. A matching GPU does not erase a shortfall in system RAM, VRAM, or drive type.
- Treat expected FPS as a target, not a guarantee. Your measured result can differ with the rest of your PC and your settings.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 support PC cross-saves?
Yes. Cyberpunk 2077’s cross-progression can transfer progress between PC and consoles through a CD PROJEKT RED account. Patch 1.6 says the latest save for each save type—such as Quick, Auto, and Manual—is uploaded automatically to the cloud. That describes the latest save of each type, not an unlimited archive of every save. Read the Patch 1.6 notes.

How to enable cross-progression
- Launch Cyberpunk 2077 and open the main menu, or open the in-game Load Game menu.
- Sign in to your CD PROJEKT RED account when prompted. The publisher also describes logging in through REDlauncher in its My Rewards instructions.
- Load or create a save on the source platform, then use the same account on the destination platform and load the available cross-progression save.
Patch 2.13, dated September 12, 2024, says cross-progression continues to work despite a mismatch between PC and console game versions. This does not establish that every platform, region, edition, or individual save will always be compatible. See the Patch 2.13 notes.
When a save does not appear or upload
- Confirm the account. Check that both versions of the game are signed in to the same CD PROJEKT RED account.
- Check save size. Patch 2.02 says uploads of saves above the maximum console save size are blocked to help prevent crashes and import problems. Read the Patch 2.02 notes.
- Consider regional availability. Patch 1.6 notes possible regional restrictions for console versions. If the account and save size are not the issue, consult current official support for your platform and region; a complete current regional compatibility matrix is not established by the cited notes.
How do you install Cyberpunk 2077 mods?
REDmod is free DLC that adds integrated mod loading and official tools for creating Cyberpunk 2077 content. It is not required for every community mod: follow the specific mod’s installation instructions, since community files and formats differ. CD PROJEKT RED says community mods are not reviewed or maintained by the publisher and directs users to the mod creator for mod-specific troubleshooting. See the official REDmod support and FAQ.

- Four panels of gorgeous art, complete with a great view of Night City.
- Shield your notes from the prying eyes of others at your table

Install REDmod-compatible mods
- Install REDmod for your game installation if your platform provides it as separate DLC. The official FAQ says REDmod is automatically installed with Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.6 or later on Epic Games Store.
- Install a REDmod-compatible mod according to its instructions. The publisher identifies the game’s
Cyberpunk 2077modsfolder for these mods; aninfo.jsonmanifest identifies REDmod-compatible content. - Enable or disable compatible mods through REDlauncher or GOG Galaxy after REDmod is installed.
The official support directions cover GOG, Steam, and Epic launchers. For Nexus Mods, CD PROJEKT RED’s instructions say to add the game to the Nexus Mods account’s Games tab, install Vortex, then sign in through Vortex. A mod’s own installation directions take precedence where they specify a different process.
REDmod, Vortex, and older mods
Vortex is the publisher-directed route for managing Nexus Mods downloads; REDmod is the game’s integrated loading support and creator toolset. They are related parts of a mod setup, not interchangeable names for the same thing. Older mods installed in the game’s archive folder can still load, according to the official FAQ, but they do not appear in the REDmod menu.

Compatibility depends on the individual mod and game version. During the Update 2.0 transition, CD PROJEKT RED advised removing pre-2.0 mods until their creators updated them because outdated files could disrupt play or cause critical errors. That was version-specific guidance, not a statement that all current mods are unsafe. Check each mod’s current compatibility notes after a game update. Read the Update 2.0 notes.

What should you check before upgrading or modding?
- Before a hardware upgrade: compare your current CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM, and storage against the target tier and the resolution and graphics mode you actually want. An SSD is an explicit requirement; the higher tiers specify NVMe. Update 2.0 said slower HDD bandwidth could interfere with streaming new content and advised against HDD use, as well as SD-card use on Steam Deck. See the Update 2.0 storage guidance.
- Before installing a mod: check the exact game version supported, the mod’s latest update, whether it is REDmod-compatible, its required installation method, and whether your launcher or manager recognizes it.
- After an update or a crash: check mod-specific instructions and contact the mod creator for help with that community mod; the publisher does not maintain community mods.
