There is no reliable public price that lets you compare Cohesity with an enterprise alternative dollar for dollar. Cohesity and Rubrik generally require a scoped sales quote, while Veeam and Commvault publish prices for selected SaaS workloads. Those public rates can help benchmark a matching workload, but they are not whole-enterprise replacement prices. To compare offers fairly, match the protected workloads, capacity measure, retention, storage, service responsibility, and contract term.
Why there is no simple Cohesity-versus-alternative price
A Cohesity deployment can cover on-premises, cloud, and SaaS workloads, with software-subscription and service options. The price therefore depends on what is protected and how the service is delivered, not just on the vendor name. Cohesity directs buyers seeking a DataProtect as a Service price to a custom quote; its DataProtect overview describes the broader platform scope.
The key pricing mismatch is the unit being measured. One proposal may price protected source data, another stored capacity, another users or virtual machines, and another terabytes per month. A low rate on one unit does not establish a lower total cost unless the workload and included service are equivalent.
What Cohesity and Rubrik disclose publicly
Cohesity
Cohesity’s DataProtect as a Service page describes custom pricing based on front-end or back-end capacity. Its service FAQ explains front-end billing in terms of the source data actually protected, lists 30 days as the default retention, and describes a per-user option for Microsoft 365. Those are useful details for normalizing a quote, but they do not give a universal rate.
#1 Best Overall
The service page states a 99.9% availability SLA. That is a stated service-level commitment, not an independently measured uptime result, and should be checked against the service terms attached to a specific offer.
Rubrik
Rubrik’s public packaging page presents editions but sends enterprise buyers to sales for pricing. A Rubrik licensing guide describes a three-year subscription and front-end terabyte measurement for its Universal Cloud License. Treat those as a guide to the licensing model, not a guaranteed term or SKU for every current proposal; confirm the applicable terms with Rubrik.

Which alternatives are worth requesting quotes from?
Rubrik for enterprise protection and cyber recovery
Rubrik is a quote candidate when requirements center on enterprise, cloud, SaaS, or unstructured-data protection and cyber recovery. Use its public packaging and licensing information to identify the edition and capacity basis to validate, then request a current quote for the same inventory you give Cohesity.
Veeam for a defined Data Cloud workload
Veeam’s public Data Cloud prices can benchmark specific Microsoft 365 or Vault scenarios. They should not be extrapolated from per-user rates to infrastructure workloads. Its page notes that pricing can vary by region and service provider.

- USB-C and USB 3.1 compatible
- Innovative style with refined metal cover
- Password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption
- Formatted for Windows
- 3-year manufacturer's limited warranty
Commvault for workload-specific SaaS comparisons
Commvault publishes prices for Microsoft 365, endpoints, virtual machines, and Kubernetes. Compare a rate only after confirming the matching workload, included allowance, retention, and billing unit.
Druva as a consumption-based quote candidate
Druva describes Business, Enterprise, and Elite consumption-based plans, but its plans and pricing material does not establish numerical rates here. It is reasonable to request a quote where its workload fit is strong, but the available information does not support calling it cheaper than Cohesity.

Veritas only where the fit is specific
A third-party Cohesity comparison from Vendr names Veritas among competitors, but a current official price and comparable deployment scope are not established. Consider it when your workload or product lineage makes it a practical candidate rather than assuming it is a like-for-like substitute.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to compare quotes on the same basis
Give each vendor the same workload inventory and operating assumptions, and require each proposal to identify its measurement basis. A useful request should cover:
- Protected workloads and capacity: list each source and whether pricing is based on front-end source data, provisioned or stored capacity, users, VMs, or TB-months.
- Deployment and responsibility: specify customer-managed software or appliance, vendor-managed SaaS, or service-provider-managed backup, and identify who operates and supports it.
- Included components: ask what repository or cloud storage, infrastructure, support, and security features are included, and whether cloud egress or restore charges are separate.
- Protection and recovery assumptions: state retention, immutability, geography and data-residency requirements, and recovery service-level expectations.
- Commercial terms: compare contract length, renewal basis, expansion and overage rates, and minimum capacity or seat commitments.
- One-time and ongoing work: identify implementation, migration, training, and the labor needed to operate the service.
For total cost of ownership, add license or service charges to storage, cloud retrieval or egress, hardware refresh, support, implementation, migration, and operating labor across the same term. Which of those costs applies, and whether it is included, depends on the specific contract and deployment.
What third-party price ranges can—and cannot—tell you
Vendr publishes modeled Cohesity and Rubrik ranges, but those are third-party estimates, not official vendor quotes or verified offers for a particular deployment. Its comparison describes appliance/software scenarios that should not be treated as confirmed current vendor offers. No broad market statistic establishes what a typical organization pays for a Cohesity alternative in 2026, so combining the vendor-specific SaaS prices above into a market average would be misleading.
