You can use Poland’s open National Court Register (KRS) API to retrieve information about a registered entity corresponding to a current or full extract, or to obtain a list of entities with entries made on a specified day. The service is open to everyone. The official pages establish these uses, but not the endpoint paths, parameters, authentication requirements, response format or rate limits; use the live Portal Rejestrów Sądowych API documentation for the actual request syntax rather than guessing.
Check that the organization is recorded in KRS
KRS covers entrepreneurs and specified kinds of organizations, but it does not include sole proprietorships or civil-law partnerships. If you are looking up a sole proprietorship, use Poland’s CEIDG register instead. The government KRS information service describes the register’s scope and directs sole-proprietorship searches to CEIDG.
Choose the kind of API query
Retrieve information about one entity
For a known KRS entity, the API can return information corresponding to either a current or a full extract. Choose current information when you need the entity’s present register state; choose full information when historical entries matter. The full extract includes historical entries, except for entries that cannot be disclosed under the applicable rules. The government service page explains the distinction.
List entities with entries on a particular day
The API also supports obtaining a list of entities for which entries were made on a specified day. This is a date-specific lookup; the official description does not establish a general search across an arbitrary date range. See the PRS KRS page for the service description.

Use the live specification to construct a request
The Ministry of Justice and PRS describe what the API can retrieve, but the official pages cited here do not state the technical call syntax. Before implementing a client, consult the current API documentation linked from the Portal Rejestrów Sądowych and confirm the details that apply to your use case:
- The endpoint and HTTP method for entity retrieval or date-based listing.
- The required entity identifier and accepted values for current versus full information.
- Whether authentication or particular request headers are required.
- Response structure, pagination behavior, error responses and service limits.
Do not infer these details from the broad service description or copy an unverified request example. Technical specifications can change, so the live documentation is the authority for implementation.

Account for personal-data anonymization
PRS says that API data about natural persons disclosed in the register are anonymized for first names, surnames and PESEL numbers. Treat this as a limitation of API output, not as a statement that all personal data are hidden in every KRS system or document. The qualification is described on the PRS KRS page.

The Ministry of Justice says that a self-retrieved printout of current KRS information can have legal force equivalent to a document issued by Central Information, provided it has features that allow it to be verified against KRS data. That conditional statement applies to verifiable printouts of current information; it does not establish that any raw API response or custom rendering has the same status.
