Use CircuitLord’s official VR Mod Installer to install the conversion, then launch VR play with the installer’s Launch in VR button while your PC VR runtime is active. The project documents a separate TF2VR profile for the mod and a separate VR save location, so an ordinary Titanfall 2 launch and the regular campaign remain separate. Before installing, check the latest release notes for current behavior and compatibility warnings.
Before you install
Get the installer and follow its instructions from CircuitLord’s official project repository. The README describes support for Titanfall 2 installations found through Steam, EA, or Xbox. You will also need a PC VR headset and an active PC VR runtime, such as SteamVR or another runtime you use.
Titanfall 2 requires the EA app and a signed-in account. The installer checks for the EA app; if it is missing, the README says to launch Titanfall 2 once so the app can be installed. The reviewed documentation does not establish a minimum PC specification or a model-by-model headset compatibility list.
The project identifies the installer as a community project, unaffiliated with or endorsed by the game’s developers or publishers, and says to use it at your own risk. Its documented manifest includes download URLs and SHA-256 hashes, which the installer compares against installed files when offering install or update actions. That is a project-described file-integrity check, not an independent security audit of the mod.

Install and launch the VR mod
- Check the current release. Visit the official releases page and review the latest notes before installing. As of October 4, 2026, the page listed installer v1.2.8, published October 3, 2026. Release notes can matter for launch behavior and compatibility.
- Open CircuitLord’s installer. Obtain it from the official project repository and use its interface to locate your Steam, EA, or Xbox Titanfall 2 installation. The README does not require a particular storefront-specific install procedure.
- Complete the installer’s prompts. The installer checks for the EA app and installs Northstar and the VR mod in a separate
TF2VRprofile within the game directory. Use the installer’s available install or update action rather than manually copying files. - Start your VR runtime. Open SteamVR or the PC VR runtime you intend to use before launching the conversion.
- Launch from the installer. Choose Launch in VR. The project documentation says the modded profile is launched through the installer; launching Titanfall 2 normally remains unmodded.
CircuitLord describes the conversion as targeting Titanfall 2’s campaign, with stereo rendering, full-body inverse kinematics, manual reloads, and Titan controls. Independent coverage published October 2, 2026, likewise reported single-player campaign support at that time.
Keep VR saves separate from the regular campaign
The documented VR save and settings folder is %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR. It is separate from the regular campaign’s saves and settings. The installer’s Campaign saves button opens or checks the VR save location.

Do not delete or overwrite folders just because their names look related to Titanfall 2. If you need to inspect the VR save location, use the installer’s button or navigate to the exact path above; the project documentation describes this separation as the measure that leaves the ordinary campaign untouched.
Uninstall without removing unrelated game files
CircuitLord’s README says: “Every install records the files it wrote inside the game folder.” It further documents that updates remove files shipped by the previous version but not the new one, and that uninstall removes exactly the files recorded for that install.

Use the uninstall control in the current installer interface and follow its prompts. The reviewed README does not give button-by-button uninstall instructions, so avoid manually deleting guessed files or directories. If the interface differs from the documentation, check the current release notes before changing files. The documented file-removal behavior is the project’s own description, not an independently verified guarantee.
Check these version-specific launch warnings
Release notes are version-specific; check the live page rather than assuming an old workaround still applies. The releases page records these changes:

- v1.2.6, October 1, 2026: the installer stops launch when another mod has replaced
dxgi.dllord3d11.dll. - v1.2.3: the installer added an administrator request for game installations under
Program Filesand explained OpenXR launch failures.
If the installer blocks a launch because one of the DirectX-related files has been replaced, use its warning and current project guidance to resolve the conflict; do not replace or delete those files by guesswork. Likewise, follow the installer’s current permission prompt for a Program Files installation rather than broadly changing folder permissions.
Set expectations for VR movement and project scope
The conversion’s current reported scope is the single-player campaign, not multiplayer. Titanfall 2’s wall-running, double jumps, sliding, grapple movement, and quick transitions can be intense in VR. Road to VR’s October 2, 2026 report notes that snap turning is available, but it cannot guarantee comfort or prevent motion sickness. Stop playing if you feel unwell; do not try to push through symptoms.

The installer source is MIT-licensed, but CircuitLord’s README says, “The mods are closed source and not covered by the MIT license.” That distinction means the installer’s license should not be mistaken for a license or independent security review of the mod itself.
