Premium is worth considering if those features or a particular higher-range configuration matter to you. For 2026, Ford’s model overview shows a $2,800 starting-price gap and headline ranges of 300 miles for Select and 320 miles for Premium. Those range figures are not a like-for-like promise for every build, and Ford’s live pricing pages disagree on the starting amounts, so compare configured vehicles before deciding.
2026 Mach-E Select vs. Premium at a glance
| What matters | Select | Premium |
|---|---|---|

| Starting figure on Ford’s live Build & Price page | $38,290 starting price | $41,090 starting price |
| Headline EPA-estimated range on the model overview | 300 miles | 320 miles; Ford associates this figure with RWD and the available extended-range battery |
| Battery and drivetrain choices in Ford’s order guide | 73 kWh usable standard-range battery with RWD or eAWD; 88 kWh usable extended-range battery with eAWD | 73 kWh usable standard-range or 88 kWh usable extended-range battery, with RWD or eAWD |
| Premium-specific highlights listed by Ford | Not listed as Select highlights on Ford’s model overview | Heated and ventilated front seats; B&O sound system |
The overview’s prices are Ford-published 2026 figures; its stated starting-price difference is $2,800. Ford’s live Build & Price page also shows a $2,800 difference, but each displayed figure is $495 higher than on the overview. Ford’s reviewed pages do not explain the discrepancy. Check the current configured price and dealer quote rather than assuming what accounts for the difference. These are not out-the-door prices and do not establish taxes, incentives, discounts, or negotiated transaction prices. Ford’s 2026 Mach-E model overview and Build & Price.
All range, power, acceleration, and battery figures below are Ford’s published specifications, not independent test results. Ford notes that actual range varies with external conditions, vehicle use, maintenance, battery age, and state of health. Ford’s model overview.
When Select makes more sense
You want the lower-cost starting point
On either of Ford’s two pages, Select starts $2,800 below Premium. If the features that distinguish Premium do not matter to you, Select is the logical place to start. Because the pages disagree on the absolute starting figures, compare the exact equipment and current price for the builds you are considering rather than treating either figure as a final purchase quote.

You do not need Premium’s comfort and audio upgrades
Ford highlights heated and ventilated front seats and a B&O sound system as Premium equipment. Those are clear reasons to choose Premium if you expect to use them regularly; if they are not priorities, they may not justify the trim premium for you.
Select already has key display and phone features
Ford lists a 10.2-inch instrument-cluster display, a 15.5-inch center display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and Phone As A Key on its overview for Select. Do not assume you need Premium to get those listed features. Ford’s 2026 model overview.

When Premium makes more sense
You want heated and ventilated front seats or B&O audio
If those comfort and sound-system upgrades are high on your list, Premium is the straightforward choice. Weigh their value against the configured price gap: Ford’s displayed starting figures do not establish what the difference will be for specific battery and drivetrain combinations.
You are shopping for a specific extended-range configuration
Premium can be ordered with the 88 kWh usable extended-range battery and either RWD or eAWD, while Select’s extended-range battery is listed only with eAWD. That gives Premium an extended-range RWD configuration that Select does not offer in Ford’s order guide. Premium’s 320-mile headline range is tied to RWD and the available extended-range battery; it does not apply to every Premium. Compare the range estimate for the exact build you want, not just the trim name. Ford’s model overview and Premium specifications.

Battery, drivetrain, power, and acceleration
Both trims offer RWD and eAWD, but battery availability differs. Ford’s order guide lists the standard-range battery at 73 kWh usable capacity and the extended-range battery at 88 kWh usable capacity. Select offers the standard-range battery with either drivetrain and the extended-range battery with eAWD; Premium offers both batteries with either drivetrain. | Trim and configuration | Ford-listed power | Ford-listed 0–60 mph |
|---|---|---|
| Select, standard-range RWD | 264 hp | 5.6 seconds |
| Select, standard-range eAWD | 325 hp | 4.6 seconds |
| Select, extended-range eAWD | 370 hp | 4.2 seconds |
| Premium, standard-range RWD | 264 hp | 5.6 seconds |
| Premium, standard-range eAWD | 325 hp | 4.6 seconds |
| Premium, extended-range RWD | 272 hp | 5.4 seconds |
| Premium, extended-range eAWD | 370 hp | 4.2 seconds |
These are Ford’s figures for the listed configurations, not independent measurements. A comparison between a base Select RWD and an extended-range Premium eAWD changes both battery and drivetrain, so it cannot show what the trim alone accounts for. For a fair comparison, match the battery and drivetrain where both trims offer them, then consider the equipment and price differences. Ford Select specifications and Ford Premium specifications.

2026 Technology Package and driver-assistance equipment
For 2026, Ford says the Technology Package is optional on Select and Premium and required to activate BlueCruise. Ford also moved the 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and Reverse Brake Assist into that package rather than leaving them standard on these trims. If you want any of those features, include the package in your build and price comparison; a trim-only comparison will miss the added cost. Ford’s 2026 changes and 2026 order guide.
Ford’s order guide also places the wireless charging pad and universal garage door opener in the Technology Package on Premium, rather than listing them as standard equipment. Check the package contents for the exact trim and build you are considering. Ford’s 2026 order guide.

- Frunk: Ford’s order guide lists it as optional rather than standard.
- NACS fast-charging adapter: Ford lists the adapter as optional rather than included with the Mobile Power Cord. Check exact vehicle compatibility and the charging network you intend to use before buying an adapter.
- Tire inflator/sealant kit: Ford’s order guide lists it as optional rather than standard.
- Connected navigation and services: Ford says the Ford Connectivity Package includes features such as connected navigation, streaming, and Wi-Fi hotspot access for one year; the included period changed from three years. Ford’s reviewed material does not establish renewal pricing, so confirm ongoing service costs directly before relying on these features.
These items can change the practical value of a build, but none should be treated as included equipment unless Ford’s current listing for that specific vehicle says so. Ford’s 2026 order guide and Ford’s model overview.
Quick Recap
How to compare the two trims fairly
- Choose the battery and drivetrain first. Identify whether you want standard or extended range and RWD or eAWD. Not every Select configuration has a Premium equivalent, or vice versa.
- Compare the range for that exact configuration. Treat Ford’s 300-mile Select and 320-mile Premium overview figures as headline EPA estimates, not guarantees for every build.
- Add equipment you actually want. Include the Technology Package if you need its camera, parking, braking, or BlueCruise-related features, and verify other optional equipment.
- Compare current configured prices. Ford’s overview and Build & Price pages show different starting amounts. Check the live build and obtain a dealer quote; distinguish MSRP from taxes, incentives, discounts, and negotiated price.
- Make the trim decision around the remaining differences. Decide whether Premium’s heated and ventilated front seats, B&O audio, or configuration availability are worth the actual price difference for your build.
