AION 2 has training dummies you can attack, and an official Korean-region update dated July 22, 2026, says some dummies in towns and Legion bases were changed to use attack skills when a player is nearby. You can use a dummy to practice a stationary skill sequence, but the available official notes do not confirm a built-in damage report, automatic reset, or dummy settings. Build planners and damage meters mentioned below are separate, unofficial tools—not native dummy features.
What can you test on an AION 2 training dummy?
Damage practice
A dummy gives you a stationary target for practicing attacks and comparing repeatable sequences. The July 22, 2026, Korean-region patch-note transcription confirms dummy practice in some town and Legion-base locations, but does not describe a native DPS summary or configurable dummy health and resistance. Skills and rotations
You can rehearse a skill sequence against a stationary target and check whether your inputs work as intended. This can help identify skipped skills or awkward ordering, but it cannot reproduce an encounter’s movement, mechanics, or damage windows.
Build comparisons

Do the dummies attack back?
Some do, according to the July 22, 2026, Korean-region update notes: certain dummies in each town and Legion base were replaced with dummies that use attack skills when a player is nearby. This does not establish that every dummy attacks, or specify how much damage it deals. Read the patch-note transcription.
Does AION 2 include a built-in DPS meter?
The reviewed official notes do not confirm an in-game damage report or a dummy configuration interface. JaMeter, by contrast, advertises per-skill damage breakdowns and a training-dummy comparison lasting 20–60 seconds. Its publisher describes it as an unofficial, fan-made tool; its advertised functions and output should not be treated as official game features or a validated benchmark. See JaMeter’s description.

How to compare a skill sequence or build fairly
- Keep the test conditions alike. Use the same character, target type, equipment, skill configuration, and self-buffs for each run. Record any differences; these are comparison controls, not documented dummy settings.
- Repeat the same sequence for a consistent interval. Compare like with like. If you use an external meter, name it and identify it as unofficial. JaMeter describes a 20–60 second comparison, but that duration is its own stated method, not an independently validated standard. JaMeter’s description.
- Change one thing at a time. For example, alter a skill choice, macro order, or build configuration, then repeat the test. Use Aion2t to organize or share a configuration, not to infer damage. Aion2t Skills Builder.
- Account for macro behavior. The AION 2 Database guide suggests starting at about 40–50 ms delay when ping is above 80–100 ms, or 10 ms when ping is below 50 ms, then adjusting if skills are skipped. These are that guide’s recommendations, not NCSOFT instructions or controlled test results. It also says a macro uses only one charge stage for charged skills, so use those manually when the full charge matters. Read the macro guide.
- Use results only for the context tested. NCSOFT announced on March 25, 2026, that PvP and PvE damage calculations were separated. Label comparisons with their test context and patch, and do not assume a PvE dummy result predicts PvP performance. Read NCSOFT’s announcement.
What dummy results cannot tell you
A stationary target is useful for consistent practice, but it cannot model movement, encounter mechanics, changing damage windows, or every target and buff condition. A result is best read as a comparison under the conditions you recorded—not as a prediction of boss or PvP performance. The distinction between PvE and PvP damage calculations makes the context label especially important.
