The battery figures are manufacturer specifications, not a direct endurance test. Xiaomi’s REDMI 17 5G page advertises up to 2.5 days of battery life; treat that as a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured comparison with the Redmi 15 5G.
Do not decide on processor names alone
The phones use different Snapdragon processors, but the specifications here do not establish which is faster in comparable real-world use. No independent benchmark comparison is available in the cited material, so a performance winner cannot be concluded from the processor names alone.

A 91mobiles comparison snapshot accessed on 2026-10-04 reported Redmi 15 5G at ₹21,499 on Amazon India and REDMI 17 5G at ₹23,999 on Amazon India, implying a ₹2,500 higher price for the REDMI 17 5G. These are third-party marketplace figures, not confirmed permanent prices; the final amount may vary by seller, stock, configuration and date. See the 91mobiles comparison and check the live listings before buying.
Xiaomi India’s store listing showed the REDMI 17 5G with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage at ₹23,999 when reviewed on 2026-10-04, alongside a crossed-out ₹39,999 reference price. That is a dated listing snapshot, not a guaranteed ongoing price or launch price. The official Redmi 15 price was not confirmed in the Xiaomi store pages reviewed. Check the Xiaomi India store for its current REDMI 17 listing, and compare like-for-like RAM and storage configurations rather than relying on a headline gap.

What to check before buying
- Confirm that the listing is for the India-market 5G model and not a similarly named regional variant or the REDMI Note 17 5G.
- Compare the same RAM and storage configuration for both phones; the cited REDMI 17 store price is for 6 GB + 128 GB.
- Check the live seller, stock and final price. The reported ₹2,500 gap is a marketplace snapshot and may change.
Regional reporting has described a Redmi 17 5G with specifications that differ from Xiaomi India’s product page. For example, a Cinco Días report dated 2026-08-06 covered an earlier or China-market version; its figures should not be mixed into an India comparison. The Cinco Días report is useful as regional context, not as the authority for the India model. A separate Cinco Días Redmi 15 launch report also distinguishes India and Malaysia’s 5G release from Spain’s 4G availability at that time.
