Yes. Amazon Luna is available in Canada; it launched there on March 22, 2023, and Amazon’s current eligibility guidance still lists Canada as a full cloud-gaming region. Luna streams games from Amazon’s servers to supported devices, so you do not need a console or gaming PC for cloud-streamed titles. You do need a compatible device, a reliable internet connection and the right input for the game.
How Amazon Luna works in Canada
Luna runs games on remote servers and streams the gameplay video and audio to your device. That can spare you from buying a console or gaming PC for streamed games, but it does not make the experience independent of your local hardware or internet connection. Amazon says performance, including resolution and latency, can depend on your device, location, connection, available bandwidth and subscription status. Amazon’s Luna Terms of Use also say content and how it is offered can vary by location, and that the content selection may change without notice.
Do you need Prime to play Amazon Luna in Canada?
Amazon lists Luna Standard as a benefit for eligible Prime members. Its country-eligibility guidance says a customer’s Prime membership must be from the country where they reside; for a Canadian resident seeking that benefit, that means a Canadian Prime membership. Amazon also offers Luna Premium as a paid subscription with an expanded library. Country eligibility does not mean every game, plan or promotion is identical for every account, so check the local Amazon pages and your account for current terms and fees.
Amazon’s September 29, 2026 explainer described Luna Standard as including more than 60 games and GameNight as offering more than 25 local-multiplayer games. Those are Amazon’s figures from that dated page, not a guarantee that a particular title will remain in the Canadian catalog. It listed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Hogwarts Legacy, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Dispatch, Sonic Mania Plus and Rise of the Tomb Raider as Standard examples at the time. The same page gave Sonic Superstars, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Batman: Arkham Knight as Premium examples. Check the live Canadian catalog before subscribing for a specific game.

How much internet speed does Luna need?
Amazon recommends at least 10 Mbps for the best gaming experience. This is Amazon’s recommendation, not an independently tested minimum or a guarantee of smooth play at that speed. A steady connection and low latency matter as well as raw speed; the result can vary with your device, location, network conditions and available bandwidth. If your internet plan has a data cap, remember that streamed gameplay uses an ongoing internet connection.
Do you need a controller for Amazon Luna?
Not for GameNight: Amazon says players can scan a QR code shown on the TV and use a phone as the controller. For other Luna games, Amazon says you need a controller or mouse and keyboard. Its current explainer names the Luna Controller and compatible alternatives such as Xbox controllers, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers, and the Razer Kishi mobile controller; it also mentions a free Luna Phone Controller app for Fire TV. Check current device and controller compatibility before choosing or buying hardware. Amazon announced Luna Controller availability in Canada at launch in March 2023, but that announcement does not establish its current Canadian stock or price.

Can you play Luna through Prime Video in Canada?
Do not assume that the Prime Video Games tab is the way to open Luna on a Canadian Fire TV. Amazon’s September 2026 explainer describes that entry point for Fire TV in the United States and United Kingdom, not Canada. Separately, Amazon lists the Rogers Xfinity Stream Box as a Luna-compatible device in Canada. Check Amazon’s current Canadian guidance for the access method on your device.
