For India-market buyers, the Redmi 17 5G leads on advertised battery capacity, wired charging speed, screen size and stated software-support duration. Motorola’s moto g77 power has a sharper Full HD+ display, a documented ultra-wide rear camera, a higher-resolution selfie camera and microSD expansion. Neither phone can be declared the performance or camera winner from specifications alone, and the prices below are a retailer snapshot—not a fixed price gap.

Keep the Redmi figures tied to the Indian model: Xiaomi’s global page lists a 7,500mAh typical battery instead of India’s advertised 7,900mAh. Xiaomi describes its battery testing as internal-lab work and says actual results may vary, so its two-day battery claim should not be treated as a guarantee of everyday runtime. Check the in-box contents in your market as well; Xiaomi’s global page says the power adapter is not included and recommends a 45W adapter or above.

Which display is better?
The Redmi’s display is larger at 6.9 inches, while the moto g77 power’s is 6.72 inches. The resolution comparison goes the other way: Xiaomi lists the Redmi panel as HD+, whereas Motorola lists the Moto panel as Full HD+. Both manufacturers specify a 120Hz display, though Xiaomi describes its rate as up to 120Hz AdaptiveSync.
Choose based on what matters more to you: the Redmi offers more screen area, while the Moto’s stated resolution is higher. The published specifications do not establish which panel looks better in person, including brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility.

How do the cameras compare?
Motorola publishes more detail about the camera configuration: a 50MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera. Xiaomi describes the Redmi’s rear setup as a 50MP AI dual-camera system, but the India-page text available here does not identify the second rear sensor’s resolution or state the front-camera resolution. That does not establish that one phone takes better photos; specifications alone cannot settle image quality.
Which phone offers longer software support?
Xiaomi states four years of OS updates and six years of security updates for the Redmi 17 5G. Motorola lists one OS upgrade and three years of security patches for the moto g77 power. On the durations published by the manufacturers, Xiaomi offers the longer stated support period. Update timing and availability can still depend on the market and rollout.

Which phone should you choose?
- Pick the Redmi 17 5G if you prioritize the larger advertised India-market battery, faster listed wired charging, a larger display or Xiaomi’s longer stated update support.
- Consider the moto g77 power if you want a Full HD+ display, a specified ultra-wide rear camera, a 32MP front camera, microSD expansion, or a 3.5mm headset jack.
- Compare local listings before deciding if price, NFC, network-band support or charger inclusion is decisive; those details can vary by seller or market.
The published specifications do not provide a sound basis for calling either phone faster in real use or superior for photography. Treat those as questions for independent testing rather than conclusions from processor or megapixel labels.
