Display: AMOLED on the V40e, LCD on the T5x
The V40e lists a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel at 2392 × 1080 resolution and 120 Hz. The T5x lists a similarly sized 6.76-inch LCD at 2344 × 1080, with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Both therefore list a high-refresh display, but the panel technologies differ. The specifications do not establish which screen is brighter or more accurate in everyday use.
Performance and software generation
On paper, the T5x pairs a Dimensity 7400-Turbo with OriginOS 6.0 based on Android 16, while the V40e lists a Dimensity 7300 and Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. That makes the T5x the newer listed processor-and-software combination; specification sheets alone do not establish real-world speed, sustained performance, or future update support.
Battery capacity, charging, and portability
vivo lists a 7200 mAh battery and 44W charging for the T5x, compared with 5500 mAh and 80W charging for the V40e. Those are manufacturer ratings, not independent battery-life or charge-time results. The T5x’s larger stated capacity does not by itself prove longer endurance, while the V40e’s higher charging wattage does not establish a particular recharge time.

The size and weight distinction is more direct: the V40e is listed at 183 g and 7.49 mm thick; the T5x at 219 g and 8.39 mm. Choose the V40e if a lighter, slimmer handset matters more. vivo’s V40e overview described its 0.749 cm thickness and 183 g weight, and attributed its claim of being the slimmest phone in the 5500 mAh battery category to its own internal research as of August 27, 2024 (vivo India V40e overview).
Camera hardware and video claims
The V40e lists a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 50 MP autofocus front camera. The T5x lists a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera alongside a 2 MP bokeh camera and a 32 MP front camera. vivo also advertises front and rear 4K recording for the T5x (vivo India overview).

The V40e has the more varied listed camera arrangement, including an ultrawide rear camera and OIS on the main camera. That does not prove it takes better photos or video: megapixel counts and feature lists cannot substitute for comparative image-quality testing.
Storage and water-and-dust protection
Both phones list LPDDR4X RAM, but the storage standards differ: UFS 2.2 on the V40e and UFS 3.1 on the T5x. The V40e is listed with 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB storage. T5x configurations listed by vivo include 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 128 GB, and 8 GB + 256 GB. A faster storage standard is a specification advantage for the T5x; the available information does not quantify how noticeable it is in particular apps.

vivo’s store material gives the V40e an IP64 rating, while its T5x specifications state IP68 and IP69. These are manufacturer-stated ingress-protection ratings, not a claim that the phones were tested under identical conditions. vivo’s T5x overview uses the wording “IP68 & IP69+ Top-Rated Dust and Water Resistance”; that is the company’s description, not independent test evidence (vivo India overview).
India prices: compare the exact RAM and storage variant
The observed official vivo India listings do not establish a clean model-to-model price difference. The V40e listing showed ₹35,999 for 8 GB + 256 GB and marked that selected configuration unavailable in the captured page. One T5x store listing showed ₹34,999 for 8 GB + 256 GB; another showed ₹45,999 for 6 GB + 128 GB (V40e store listing; T5x store listing).

The matching 8 GB + 256 GB listings have different displayed prices, but the V40e selection was marked unavailable, so those observations do not establish a current, purchasable price gap. The T5x’s other listed price is for a different configuration and should not be treated as its general price range. Check the selected variant’s live price and stock on vivo India’s store before buying.

- Consider the vivo V40e if AMOLED, a lighter and thinner build, 80W charging, an OIS-equipped main camera, an ultrawide rear camera, or a 50 MP autofocus front camera are priorities.
- Consider the vivo T5x if the larger stated battery, the newer listed processor and Android combination, UFS 3.1 storage, or the higher stated IP68/IP69 ratings matter more to you.
- Compare listings carefully if price is decisive: match RAM and storage, then confirm current stock. Do not infer a reliable model-wide price difference from the observed listings.
Neither specification sheet establishes a winner for battery life, camera quality, or overall performance; those require comparable testing.
