When does The Relic: First Guardian release on Switch 2?
Nintendo Brazil lists the Switch 2 release for October 9, 2026. Nintendo’s regional store listing is the platform-specific source; Nintendo Insider also reported that date for a worldwide Nintendo eShop release on September 25, 2026. The date does not establish an exact time when the game will unlock: Nintendo says eShop release times are set by publishers and can vary by title.

Older dates for other platforms are separate schedules. Perp Games’ April 9 update moved the previously planned May 26 launch to later summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC and Switch 2, while Steam lists the PC release as July 30. Those dates do not replace the October 9 date on Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing. Perp Games’ update is the source for the schedule change.
Is the Switch 2 version digital or physical?
Nintendo Brazil identifies the Switch 2 edition as digital. Perp Games’ general product page labels the game “Physical & Digital Release,” but does not say that a physical edition is available for Switch 2 or specify its region. That broad label is not confirmation of a Switch 2 cartridge; check the platform and region on any retailer listing before buying. Perp Games’ product page provides the general format label.

What kind of game is it?
The Relic: First Guardian is a dark action RPG developed by Project Cloud Games and published by Perp Games. Its setting, Arsilthus, becomes an apocalyptic landscape after the great relic is destroyed. You play as the last Guardian, seeking Relics—fragments said to hold the emotions and wishes of people who lived before—and use them in an effort to restore the realm. The publisher frames the world through Korean folklore and ancient mythology. The Steam description also identifies those inspirations.
How do combat and character builds work?
Perp Games describes combat as built around offense without a resource cost for ordinary attacks and careful use of defense. Stamina is reserved for defensive actions such as dodging and blocking. Stronger magic uses cooldowns and a separate meter, rather than the stamina pool.

The publisher lists five weapon masteries: Sword & Shield, Battle Staff, Daggers, Two-Handed Weapons and Longsword. Weapon skill trees, gear and Relics shape progression instead of a traditional leveling system. Relics provide passive effects that can alter combat tempo and skills. These are advertised mechanics, not a performance assessment of the Switch 2 version.
How much content does the publisher advertise?
Perp Games’ product page advertises over 70 unique Relics or passive effects and up to 80 bosses. The “up to” qualification matters: this is a publisher-stated maximum, not a confirmed count of mandatory encounters. An earlier publisher announcement used “over 70 bosses,” so the promotional figures should not be treated as a fixed roster. The same page says development involved a dozen-person core team over six years; those are also publisher-provided figures, not independently audited counts.
