To use Kaspersky for business, choose a current business offering, decide whether to manage it through a cloud console or an on-premises Kaspersky Security Center installation, then deploy protection to company devices and manage policies centrally. Kaspersky says its Endpoint Security for Windows offering has evolved into Kaspersky Next, so check current product names, licensing, and regional availability before starting.

1. Inventory your devices and administration needs

Before choosing a product or starting installation, list the devices you need to protect and how they are used. Include workstations, servers, and mobile devices; their operating systems; and any branch, remote, or isolated locations. Check the current requirements for the specific product and version you plan to deploy, because supported configurations can differ.

Also decide who will administer protection, whether you need remote management, and whether your organization can use a vendor-managed cloud service. Kaspersky describes support for mixed environments and air-gapped deployments, but the exact supported setup depends on the product and version.

2. Choose a current business offering

Kaspersky’s current small- and medium-business materials list Kaspersky Next EDR Foundations and EDR Optimum. Compare their published feature sets with your requirements rather than assuming one edition is right for every organization. The feature matrix and availability may change, so verify the edition details for your country before selecting a license.

Choice What to consider
EDR Foundations or EDR Optimum Compare the current capabilities listed for each edition, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, cloud discovery or protection, and response features. Kaspersky lists additional capabilities such as automated response for Optimum; confirm the exact feature matrix in your region. Kaspersky Next for small and medium businesses
License and sales route Prices, license eligibility, and terms are not established here and can vary by product and region. Confirm them with the applicable regional Kaspersky business page or local sales contact.

3. Pick cloud or on-premises management

Choose the management model before rollout. Kaspersky offers a cloud SaaS console as well as on-premises management options. The decision affects who hosts and maintains the management layer, how administrators connect to it, and whether the model fits your organization’s network and policies.

Management route How it works Best fit to evaluate
Cloud Console Create a Kaspersky account and use the cloud console to manage protection. Kaspersky business downloads Organizations that want vendor-hosted management and need to administer devices remotely, subject to their security and service policies.
On-premises Security Center Install Kaspersky Security Center in your environment, then use an available management console such as MMC or Web Console. Kaspersky Security Center Organizations that need to host the management layer themselves or have network or policy requirements that favor local administration.

Kaspersky’s Security Center page describes the cloud SaaS console and says MMC and Web Console options remain available. Product labels and console availability can evolve; verify the current options for the product you select.

4. Install management first, then deploy endpoint protection

For an on-premises managed rollout, Kaspersky’s download guidance is to install Kaspersky Security Center first. During endpoint rollout, obtain the necessary distribution packages through the management console. Kaspersky also describes direct installation on supported workstations, servers, and mobile devices using an installation wizard.

  1. Set up management: for the cloud route, create an account and enter the Cloud Console; for the on-premises route, install Kaspersky Security Center and choose an available console.
  2. Prepare endpoint packages: in a managed deployment, use Security Center to download the distributions needed for the devices in scope.
  3. Install protection: follow the current Quick Start Guide for introductory setup, then use the version-specific Online Help for exact screens and steps. Kaspersky’s Quick Start Guide covers express installation and initial configuration, but it is not a substitute for current, version-specific instructions.
  4. Verify enrollment: check the management console to confirm devices appear as expected before expanding deployment.

Installation details can vary by operating system, product, and version. Do not rely on an older guide for exact current screen labels or requirements.

5. Apply policies and monitor the deployment

Use Security Center to configure policies, schedule tasks, manage updates, and review reports across device groups. Kaspersky describes role-based access, which can help organizations divide administrative work without giving every administrator the same access.

  • Start with a small pilot group and conservative policies. This is a prudent rollout approach, not a sequence Kaspersky requires.
  • Check that protection and updates are reaching managed devices, and verify that essential business applications continue to work.
  • Review reports and adjust policies before expanding to the rest of the organization.
  • Assign administrator roles according to responsibilities, and limit access to what each role needs.

For product capabilities and console functions, consult Kaspersky’s current Security Center information and the online help for your installed version.

6. Check regional access before downloading or migrating

Download and licensing access depends on geography. The Kaspersky US downloads page says business downloads are unavailable for US customers and directs non-US customers to Kaspersky.com. That is a US-specific notice, not a statement about availability everywhere; check the applicable regional site or authorized local contact before planning a deployment.

If you already use Endpoint Security for Windows, Kaspersky says it has evolved into Kaspersky Next. Kaspersky’s migration guidance says some users can replace the license and continue using their existing console, or follow a guide to move to cloud-based consoles. Treat this as vendor guidance, not a universal migration recipe: confirm that it applies to your exact product, license, console, and region before changing a production environment.
