Curtiss-Wright Corporation acquired Peritek Corporation’s assets and certain liabilities on August 1, 2003. Curtiss-Wright reported a purchase price of $3.2 million in cash plus assumed liabilities. Peritek made video and graphic display boards for embedded-computing applications; the deal and subsequent brand consolidation are historical, and available sources do not establish whether Peritek-branded products are sold today.
Who acquired Peritek, and when?
Curtiss-Wright Corporation acquired Peritek’s assets and certain liabilities on August 1, 2003, according to Curtiss-Wright’s 2003 annual report. The transaction was an asset acquisition, not evidence that every part of Peritek’s business or corporate identity transferred unchanged.
The annual report put the purchase price at $3.2 million in cash plus assumed liabilities. Curtiss-Wright paid $1.5 million at closing; the balance was subject to a promissory note and a holdback for potential indemnification claims. The report also valued developed technology included in the acquired net assets at approximately $2.6 million.
What did Peritek make?
Curtiss-Wright described Peritek, based in Oakland, California, as a supplier of video and graphic display boards for embedded computing. Its annual report identified aviation, defense, medical, bomb detection, industrial automation, and medical imaging among the markets and applications served.

A 2003 trade report described graphics-controller platforms for PMC, PCI, CompactPCI, and VME, and listed Solaris, Windows, Linux, VxWorks, and Lynux as supported operating environments at that time. How was Peritek integrated into Curtiss-Wright?
Initial placement under VISTA Controls
Contemporary trade coverage reported that Peritek became a VISTA Controls business unit under Curtiss-Wright while retaining its Oakland headquarters and brand identity at the time. That describes the arrangement reported in 2003, not the company’s present structure.

Consolidation into Embedded Computing
By November 2004, Curtiss-Wright Controls said it was consolidating the Peritek name and several other acquired names into its Embedded Computing group. The report said the names would cease as independent activities while their capabilities continued through product groups. Group president Tom Quinly described the approach as preserving technology-focused teams rather than fully amalgamating them. The account is in Military & Aerospace Electronics’ 2004 report; it does not establish the current corporate structure or product lineage.

The available sources establish Peritek’s historical products and the later consolidation of its name, but do not establish whether Peritek-branded boards—or successor products derived from them—are currently sold.
