Infineon’s September 13, 2006 announcement introduced two 13.56 MHz RFID chips for identifying objects in logistics and manufacturing: my-d light, designed around item tracking and memory, and my-d vicinity HC, intended to enable very small tags. The product details and performance figures below are historical manufacturer claims, not confirmation that the chips are available or supported today.
What Infineon announced
The two chips were my-d light (SRF55V01P) and my-d vicinity HC (SRF55V02P HC). Infineon positioned them for uses including supply-chain tracking, brand protection, asset and inventory management. The HC version was also aimed at small garment or button labels and linen or laundry management. The announcement described both as operating at 13.56 MHz and complying with ISO/IEC 15693 and ISO/IEC 18000-3 mode 1; those are the manufacturer’s claims in 2006, not a present-day verification. Infineon’s announcement.
How my-d light and my-d vicinity HC differ
| Feature | my-d light (SRF55V01P) | my-d vicinity HC (SRF55V02P HC) |
|---|---|---|
| Emphasis in the announcement | Brand protection, supply-chain tracking, asset and inventory control | Small labels and tags, including garment labels and button tags |
| Memory or physical design | 416 bits of non-volatile user memory, described as 52 text characters | High input capacitance intended to support very small antennas |
| Example application | Parts identification and inventory management | Linen and laundry management |
| Shared stated features | 13.56 MHz; ISO/IEC 15693 and ISO/IEC 18000-3 mode 1; more than ten years’ data retention; more than 100,000 read/write cycles | |
The comparison reflects Infineon’s 2006 announcement; it does not establish current product status or performance.
What performance figures did Infineon report?
Infineon said the chips could identify, read, and write up to 50 adjacent objects in about one second regardless of orientation. The release compared that figure with up to 30 labels per second for alternative RFID chips. Both figures are dated manufacturer claims, not independently verified test results.
#1 Best Overall
- RFID 4K Card operates at 13.56MHz wireless frequency,according to the ISO14443A standard,and contains 1K bytes of read/write memory,but UID can’t change,uid is not rewritable
- All cards are pre-programmed with a unique ID(4 Byte UID). The UID is NOT changeable, factory default key: FF FF FF FF FF FF
- They are credit card size, each card individually OPP bag packed. Blank white both sides(no printed numbers, no magnetic strips and no slots or holes)
For the vicinity HC design, Infineon reported an 8 mm antenna diameter and an average overall inlay size of about 10 mm. The announcement also cited a programmable distance of up to 120 cm, depending on reader configuration and antenna design. That is a conditional maximum from the release, not a guaranteed operating range for a tag-reader setup.
The release further claimed more than ten years of data retention and more than 100,000 read/write cycles. These figures, like the stated data rate, are claims made in 2006; the announcement does not provide an independent benchmark or establish how a particular deployed tag would perform.

Availability and compatibility: what the announcement does—and does not—say
In 2006, Infineon said the chips were available as unsawn wafers and as sawn and bumped wafers. It also named KSW Microtec, TagStar Systems, and UPM Raflatac as companies offering inlay and label formats. These are historical availability and partner statements, not evidence of current orderability or present-day vendor relationships.
A tag listing that mentions ISO 15693 or 13.56 MHz alone does not establish compatibility with a specific reader or legacy chip. For a deployment, verify the reader, tag IC, protocol, antenna design, and intended application together. The announcement does not identify a particular current marketplace tag as compatible with either my-d product.

Is this a current product launch?
No. The announcement is dated September 13, 2006. Infineon’s news index contains later news, but does not turn this historical launch into a current availability report. Current lifecycle, authorized supply, and support for SRF55V01P and SRF55V02P HC are not established by the cited product announcement.
Quick Recap
