It is compelling only if your device has a compatible Mini SSD slot—or you buy a separate USB4 reader. Those figures are BIWIN specifications, not independent benchmark results, so compatibility and real-world testing matter more than the peak numbers alone.

BIWIN says its peak-speed results were tested in its labs and that actual performance may vary with the system, device, or environment. The figures should therefore be read as manufacturer maxima, not guaranteed transfer rates or results independently reproduced in a review. BIWIN CL100 specifications.
Compatibility is the first buying decision
The CL100 is not a universal memory card and does not fit a standard M.2 2230 slot. Internal use requires a device with a specifically compatible Mini SSD slot. Tom’s Hardware reported support in the GPD Win 5 and several OneXPlayer models; it contrasted the format with the M.2 2230 drives used in Steam Deck devices. Check the exact model and its manufacturer documentation before buying, since compatibility with one handheld does not imply compatibility across a product family. How fast is the CL100 in real use?
On paper, PCIe 4.0 x2 and sequential rates up to 3,700 MB/s read and 3,400 MB/s write make the CL100 a high-throughput option for such a small removable drive. But sequential peak rates do not establish how it handles game loading, small files, long transfers, or sustained writes. The accessible text of ThinkComputers’ September 29, 2026 review provides specification tables and notes that BIWIN supplied the product, but does not show benchmark measurements. Capacity also changes the stated write ceiling: the review table lists up to 2,400 MB/s for 512 GB, compared with 3,400 MB/s for the 1 TB and 2 TB models. Treat all these as listed specifications, not measured outcomes. A buyer who regularly writes large files should compare performance at the capacity they plan to purchase and look for testing in the intended host.
Using the CL100 externally with the RD510 reader
BIWIN offers the RD510 Mini SSD Reader as an external-use route for the CL100. BIWIN rates the reader for up to 3,300 MB/s read and 3,000 MB/s write over USB4. The reader, host port, cable, and workload can each constrain actual results, and the reader’s own stated ceiling is below the CL100’s maximum sequential figures. BIWIN lists Windows, macOS, iOS, PlayStation 5, and Android among platform categories for the RD510. That is the manufacturer’s compatibility claim; confirm that the particular device supports the reader and has the appropriate USB4 connection before relying on it.
What the durability and warranty claims mean
BIWIN specifies IP68 protection against dust and water and drop resistance up to 3 meters. These are vendor claims; the available information does not establish independent testing conditions, so do not treat them as a guarantee against every spill, immersion, or impact scenario. The warranty listed by ThinkComputers is three years or the applicable TBW limit, whichever comes first. Is the BIWIN CL100 worth buying?
The CL100 makes the most sense when a device you already own has a confirmed Mini SSD slot and you value removable, high-speed storage in a very small package. Its specific form factor is also its main limitation: it cannot simply replace a microSD card or an M.2 2230 drive in devices that lack the matching slot. The RD510 can extend its use to compatible USB4 hosts, but adds cost and imposes its own performance ceiling.
Before choosing a capacity, compare the local price per usable terabyte, the 512 GB model’s lower listed write maximum, the warranty and TBW terms, and whether external-reader use is worth the extra accessory.
