ChatGPT Meetings is currently available in beta in the ChatGPT desktop app on macOS for all Pro and Business plans. Enterprise access is limited to a small alpha group, not generally available. OpenAI says iOS, Android, and Windows support is coming soon, so those platforms are not currently listed as supported.
Who can use ChatGPT Meetings?
OpenAI lists Meetings beta access for all Pro plans and all Business plans in the Meetings Help Center article. The same article says Enterprise is being tested with a limited group through an alpha program. An Enterprise account alone does not guarantee access.

What Mac and app do you need?
Use the ChatGPT desktop app on a Mac, install Meetings from Plugins, and complete its onboarding. OpenAI’s Meetings documentation does not specify a minimum macOS version or compatible Mac models, so there is no documented version or model threshold to check against.
Enable the required audio permissions
Meetings needs permission to use both the microphone and system audio. The microphone captures your voice and nearby speakers; system audio captures sound coming from the Mac, including people speaking through a remote call. If a participant or part of the discussion is missing, check both permissions and confirm that the selected microphone is connected and working.

Business workspace settings
For Business, a workspace administrator must have ChatGPT Space and the Meetings plugin enabled. If Meetings is missing from Plugins, ask the administrator to check those settings.
How to set up and start a meeting
- Open the ChatGPT desktop app on your Mac and sign in to the eligible account and workspace.
- Open Plugins, find and install Meetings, then open it from the sidebar and complete onboarding.
- Allow microphone and system-audio access when prompted. Verify the microphone works and both permissions are enabled.
- Tell everyone who will be recorded that notes will be taken and get their consent before proceeding. The in-app reminder does not notify participants or obtain consent for you.
- Select Take notes to begin. A calendar connection is optional; connect Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar only if you want upcoming-meeting visibility and reminders.
What Meetings does, and when it stops
Meetings can use the transcript, your notes, and authorized context from connected apps to create a personalized summary and suggested action items. You can review or edit proposed actions before launching them.

It may detect that you are in a call and offer to take notes even if the call is not on your calendar. It can remind you to stop after a few minutes without detected audio. OpenAI says it automatically stops when the Mac lid is closed, after an extended period without audio, or at a four-hour session limit.
Privacy and consent
Meetings streams Mac microphone and system audio to OpenAI for processing. Once notes are ready, the audio is deleted from the Mac and OpenAI’s servers. If processing is incomplete or the Mac is offline, audio may remain temporarily on the Mac. Meeting pages are private by default; if you share a page, recipients can see the notes but not the transcript.

Tell participants that notes will be taken and obtain their consent before starting. The app’s reminder is for you; it does not notify others or collect their consent. Check the rules that apply where you and your participants are located.
If notes are delayed or speakers are missing
- Notes have not appeared: Check your internet connection and allow audio upload and processing to finish; OpenAI says notes can take a few minutes to appear. Offline audio may remain temporarily on the Mac while it waits to upload.
- A speaker or part of the call is missing: Check both microphone and system-audio permissions, then verify the selected microphone is connected and functioning.
- The session ends unexpectedly: Meetings can stop when the Mac lid closes, after an extended period without audio, or at the four-hour session limit.
Meetings is not the same as ChatGPT Record
Meetings is a plugin with Pro and Business beta eligibility and limited Enterprise alpha access. ChatGPT Record is a separate macOS feature. OpenAI’s Record documentation lists Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces; Enterprise and Edu access is disabled by default unless a workspace owner enables it. Record’s broader plan list does not establish eligibility for Meetings.

Record sessions have a four-hour (240-minute) maximum, according to OpenAI’s Help Center in 2026. Meetings has its own automatic four-hour stopping condition. The shared limit does not make the two features interchangeable.
