The Technics EAH-A1000 is the better fit on paper if you prioritize its longer manufacturer-rated battery life and three-device multipoint; the Sony WH-1000XM6 is lighter and offers a clearer range of listed codecs, including LC3. Their sound signatures also differ in one independent review, but the available evidence does not establish a controlled head-to-head noise-cancelling winner or determine which will feel more comfortable to you.

The weights, prices and performance figures above come from regional manufacturer pages or a dated review, not a single standardized test. Battery claims in particular should not be read as a direct comparison: Sony specifies separate ANC-on and ANC-off durations, while Technics’ cited claim does not specify those conditions.
Which is lighter and more comfortable?
Sony’s listed weight is approximately 254 g, compared with approximately 306 g for the EAH-A1000 on Technics UK’s page. That makes the Sony about 52 g lighter on the stated figures, a difference worth considering for long listening sessions or travel.
Weight alone cannot settle comfort. Head shape, clamping force, ear-pad fit and heat can affect how each headphone feels, and the available information does not provide a personalized comfort result or a controlled fit comparison. If possible, try both with the glasses or other accessories you normally wear.

How do battery life and device switching compare?
Battery life
Technics claims up to 45 hours of playback for the EAH-A1000. Sony rates the WH-1000XM6 for up to 30 hours with noise cancelling on and up to 40 hours with it off. Because the Technics pages cited here do not attach an ANC condition to the 45-hour claim, those headline numbers are not like-for-like endurance results.
Multipoint
Technics specifies connections to up to three devices. Sony lists multipoint but does not give a device count on the cited specification page. If switching among a phone, laptop and tablet is central to your routine, Technics states the three-device limit explicitly; confirm Sony’s current behavior for your devices before buying if you need a specific count.

Which has better codec support?
Sony lists SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 for the WH-1000XM6; Technics UK specifically lists LDAC for the EAH-A1000. That makes Sony’s published codec list broader in the cited specifications, though the practical benefit depends on your source device, software and preferred wireless audio setup. A codec name alone does not guarantee a noticeable sound-quality improvement.
How do they sound, and which cancels more noise?
In its dated EAH-A1000 review, What Hi-Fi characterizes the Technics as smooth and refined, while judging the Sony more rhythmically precise and dynamically subtle. Those are that reviewer’s subjective listening impressions, not measurements or a universal result; fit, music and personal preference can change what sounds best to you. Read What Hi-Fi’s review.

Technics describes adaptive noise cancelling on the EAH-A1000, but the available evidence does not establish a controlled ANC ranking against the WH-1000XM6. Neither the feature description nor the listening characterization is enough to declare one quieter in real-world travel, office or street use.
