The realme 16 Pro+ has the stronger listed display and higher-resolution camera hardware, while the Galaxy A57 offers Samsung’s clearly stated long-term update commitment. Price depends on where you buy: Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $549.99, while a 91mobiles comparison page displayed India prices of ₹58,999 for the A57 and ₹53,999 for the realme. Those figures come from different market contexts and should not be compared as global prices.

Which phone has the better display?
On listed specifications, the realme 16 Pro+ leads in size, resolution, and maximum refresh rate: it has a 6.8-inch 1280 × 2800 display rated up to 144 Hz. Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ panel with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. That gives realme the numerical edge for screen area, pixel count, and refresh ceiling, but the figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in person; brightness, calibration, viewing conditions, and content also matter.
How do their cameras differ?
realme 16 Pro+: high-resolution main and telephoto cameras
realme lists a 200 MP wide camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2-axis optical image stabilization, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. Its front camera is listed at 50 MP. The configuration gives buyers a dedicated telephoto camera and higher stated pixel counts on the main and selfie cameras.

Galaxy A57: wide, ultra-wide, and macro
Samsung lists a 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide, and 5 MP macro rear-camera array, plus a 12 MP front camera. Its named rear-camera options therefore include a macro lens rather than a telephoto lens.
These hardware specifications describe different camera priorities; they do not prove which phone takes better photos or video. Megapixel counts are not a substitute for image processing, sensor performance, or comparable camera testing, and no matched independent camera test is established here.

What about processor performance?
realme’s official global specification page names the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Samsung’s cited U.S. announcement/specification table does not identify the A57 chipset; 91mobiles lists Exynos 1680, which is secondary reporting rather than Samsung’s specification in that source. A chipset name alone is not enough to declare a speed or gaming winner. For a meaningful buying decision, look for comparable tests of the exact regional versions and conditions you care about.
Which has the clearer software-update promise?
Samsung says the new Galaxy A series will receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. The cited realme specification page identifies realme UI 7.0 but does not give a directly comparable support duration. That difference is about what the cited pages explicitly commit to; it does not establish that realme has no update policy. Samsung’s commitment is documented in its U.S. announcement.

What is the price difference?
United States
Samsung announced a $549.99 U.S. starting price for the Galaxy A57, with U.S. availability from April 9, 2026. Its U.S. announcement lists 8+128 GB and 8+256 GB variants. The cited sources do not establish a comparable U.S. price for the realme 16 Pro+, so a U.S. price gap cannot be calculated from them. Check local listings for current availability and the exact storage configuration.
India
When accessed in 2026, the 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹58,999 for the Galaxy A57 5G and ₹53,999 for the realme 16 Pro+, making the A57 ₹5,000 more expensive in those displayed listings. These are changeable comparison-page prices with Amazon listing labels, not manufacturer list prices or a guarantee of current stock. Check the live price, seller, and matching storage variant before buying.

Do not use the U.S. Samsung starting price and India listings to calculate a single worldwide difference: they refer to different markets, and the sources do not provide matching realme and Samsung prices for every region.
