A 91mobiles listing showed the POCO at ₹2,000 more, but that snapshot compares different retailers and does not establish matching configurations or current checkout prices.

Which display is better?
The Nord 6 has the higher listed refresh rate at 165 Hz, compared with 120 Hz for the POCO. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion appear smoother, though the benefit depends on the content and settings. The POCO has the slightly larger listed panel at 6.83 inches versus 6.78 inches. Choose based on whether refresh rate or screen size matters more to you; the cited comparison does not establish a broader display-quality winner.
Which phone is better for performance and gaming?
The published chipset comparison favors the POCO on headline positioning: it uses the Dimensity 9500s, while the Nord 6 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. 91mobiles also displayed higher AnTuTu and Wild Life Extreme results for the POCO: 3,022,675 versus 2,366,913 in AnTuTu, and 6,194 versus 4,499 in Wild Life Extreme. These are third-party comparison figures; the captured information does not establish the testing protocol, so treat them as directional rather than a promise of real-world game performance.

What OnePlus says about Nord 6 gaming
OnePlus advertises “Steady-smooth 165 FPS ‘PC-level’ AAA gaming.” Its stated BGMI result was tested on a 12 GB Nord 6 with Pro Gamer mode and Adaptive Frame Booster enabled, “Ultra Extreme” (165 FPS) and Smooth graphics, 280 nits display brightness, 75 dB volume, and an ambient temperature of 25°C ± 1°C. For CODM, OnePlus states Pro Gamer mode, maximum frame rate, Medium/Low graphics, the same brightness and volume, and the same ambient temperature. These are vendor lab claims under specified conditions, not guarantees for every title or setup. OnePlus Nord 6 launch information.
Which phone has the better battery and charging?
For India, OnePlus advertises a 9000 mAh Nord 6 battery and “2.5+ days” of power, while cautioning that actual performance varies with environment, network, apps, and usage. POCO’s global specification lists an 8500 mAh typical battery for the X8 Pro Max and 100 W HyperCharge; POCO notes that actual power can vary with environment and battery conditions. Those capacity figures are for different stated market contexts, and neither establishes comparative battery life. The reviewed OnePlus launch information did not provide a comparable charging figure, so it does not support a direct charging-speed verdict. How do the cameras compare?
91mobiles lists the same rear-camera resolutions for both phones: a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. It lists a 32 MP front camera for the Nord 6 and a 20 MP front camera for the POCO. That gives the Nord a higher-resolution selfie-camera specification, but megapixels alone do not show which phone takes better photos. No controlled camera comparison is established by these specifications.
How much more does the POCO X8 Pro Max cost?
A 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹46,999 for the Nord 6 at Amazon and ₹48,999 for the POCO X8 Pro Max at Flipkart—a nominal ₹2,000 difference in that listing snapshot. It is not a verified live quote, and the summary does not make the exact RAM and storage variants clear. Retailer, configuration, stock, discounts, and payment offers can change the effective price. Other details to consider
Software support
OnePlus states that the India-market Nord 6 receives 4 Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates. POCO’s global specification identifies HyperOS 3, but the cited material does not provide a directly comparable support-duration commitment for the X8 Pro Max. Check the applicable regional support terms if update longevity is a deciding factor. OnePlus India product page; POCO global specifications.
Water and dust resistance
POCO lists IP68 resistance based on lab testing in static freshwater up to 2 metres for up to 30 minutes under stated conditions. The company cautions that this does not assure resistance outside those conditions and advises against beach or pool use; IP68 should not be read as “waterproof.” POCO global specifications.
