Its clamp attaches to material up to 1-1/2 inches thick, and its head rotates so you can aim the air where you need it. The “$20” price is not guaranteed: The Home Depot showed different prices on October 4, 2026, and the fan is sold without a battery or charger.
Why a small clamp fan earns a place in the garage
It mounts instead of taking up workspace
The PCF02B’s clamp lets you attach it to an edge rather than setting it on a crowded bench or the floor. The Home Depot listing gives a maximum clamp thickness of 1-1/2 inches. That can make it handy near a workbench, shelf, or other suitable edge where a larger standing fan would be awkward. Check the thickness and shape of the surface before buying; the US listing’s stated limit is not a guarantee that every frame or rail will fit.
You can direct airflow and choose a speed
The listing describes a multidirectional rotating head and two speed settings. In practical terms, those features let you point the fan toward a task or seating spot and adjust between the two available speeds. The product page lists airflow of over 180 CFM, but that is a manufacturer or retailer specification, not an independent measurement of how much air it will move across a particular garage.
It can be convenient if you already own ONE+ batteries
The fan uses a RYOBI 18V battery, which is not included, and the listing also says the charger is sold separately. If you already have compatible ONE+ power equipment, you may be able to use a battery you own; otherwise, include the battery and charger in the total cost. The Home Depot lists over 40 hours of runtime on low with a P193 6.0 Ah battery. That is a conditional listed figure, not a universal runtime: battery capacity and speed setting matter.

Is it really a $20 fan?
Not necessarily. On October 4, 2026, The Home Depot’s product page displayed $24.35 and noted that local prices may vary; a search-result listing showed a $19.97 special-buy price. Those conflicting, time-sensitive observations do not establish a permanent $20 price. Check the live listing and your local availability before deciding whether it fits your budget.

Would it work on a golf-cart frame?
Possibly, if the specific part of the frame is within the clamp’s stated capacity and gives the clamp a secure grip. The US listing specifies material up to 1-1/2 inches thick, but it does not establish fit for every golf-cart frame. Measure the mounting point and check that the fan cannot slip or interfere with controls, visibility, or safe operation. RYOBI Europe’s January 2022 release describes a European-market version that clamps to edges up to 38 mm and round objects up to 25 mm; those figures are regional product information, not a substitute for the US listing’s specification. Can you charge it with USB-C?
No. The Home Depot product-page answer says the PCF02B requires a RYOBI 18V battery and charger; a USB-C charger is not a replacement for that power system. The product is tool-only, so check what compatible battery and charging equipment you already have before buying. The Home Depot product page.

When to choose this fan—and when to compare a larger one
The 4-inch clamp fan is best considered a compact, close-range option for a spot where a clamp can hold it and a small footprint matters. RYOBI also lists a larger ONE+ Hybrid WHISPER SERIES 7-1/2-inch fan, model PCL811B. The available product information does not provide an independent head-to-head test, so choose based on your space and intended placement rather than assuming one moves more air in a particular setting.

The larger model is worth comparing if you need a fan for a wider work area or prefer a different placement style. The clamp model makes more sense when attaching a fan to a suitable edge is the main advantage you want.
