The Pixel 10a is listed from $499 on Google’s U.S. specifications page, but a current, comparable Galaxy S24 price is not established here—so there is no reliable price gap to quote.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent tests. Battery capacity and charging estimates do not show how long either phone lasts in the same real-world workload, and camera megapixel counts alone do not establish photo quality.
What the price difference really means
Google’s U.S. page lists the Pixel 10a from $499. That is the only current starting-price figure established for this comparison; a reliable current Galaxy S24 price was not established, so calculating a dollar difference would risk comparing unlike offers.
For a useful price check, compare the same country, storage capacity, unlocked or carrier-locked status, seller type, and condition (new, refurbished, or used). Include applicable promotions and confirm that each listing is for the intended regional model. Do not treat a historic launch price or an overseas listing as today’s equivalent U.S. price.

Where the S24 and Pixel 10a differ most
Camera reach: S24 has a dedicated 3x telephoto
The S24’s three rear cameras include a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, in addition to its wide and ultrawide cameras. The Pixel 10a has two rear cameras: wide and ultrawide. Google lists Super Zoom up to 8x, but that does not make it a dedicated optical telephoto camera. If photographing distant subjects is a priority, the S24’s dedicated 3x lens is the clear hardware distinction. These specifications do not establish which phone produces better photos overall.
Battery capacity and charging are not the same as endurance
Google lists the Pixel 10a’s typical capacity as 5,100mAh, compared with Samsung’s 4,000mAh typical figure for the S24. That makes the Pixel’s stated battery larger, but capacity alone cannot predict screen-on time or battery life across different displays, processors, settings and workloads. No controlled head-to-head endurance result is established here.
Rank #2
- 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh and a peak brightness of ~2,600 nits — giving a noticeably sharper, brighter screen than the base S24.
The charging claims also have different conditions. Samsung specifies 25W wired charging and an estimate of about 50% in around 30 minutes with a 25W adapter and 3A cable. Google’s up-to-50%-in-about-30-minutes estimate calls for a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Both manufacturers say the required power accessories are sold separately; the stated rates are not a same-test comparison.
Screen size and refresh rate are close, but not identical
The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch display with a 60–120Hz range; Samsung lists a 6.2-inch display with adaptive 1–120Hz refresh. These manufacturer specifications suggest similar compact-screen territory, with a slightly larger stated diagonal on the Pixel. They do not establish brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor readability in use.

- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Processor comparisons depend on the S24 market version
Samsung’s U.S. S24 announcement specifies Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 8GB RAM, while Google lists Tensor G4 and 8GB RAM for the Pixel 10a. Samsung’s S24 processor can differ outside the U.S., so check the exact model sold in your country before comparing performance or network compatibility. The specifications alone do not establish a real-world speed winner.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S24 if you want a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera, or if a current local offer makes it a better fit for your budget. Verify the exact regional S24 variant and its seller terms.
- Choose the Pixel 10a if you prefer Google’s Pixel product tier, its listed 5,100mAh typical battery, or its U.S. starting price of $499. Confirm the price and configuration for your market.
- Compare before deciding if battery life, camera output, or performance is the deciding factor: the listed specifications do not substitute for a controlled head-to-head test, and preferences for camera processing and Android interface are personal.
Pixel 10a box contents and charging note
Google lists the Pixel 10a box contents as the phone, a 1m USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a SIM tool; a power adapter is not listed. For the stated wired charging estimate, Google specifies a separately sold 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Samsung likewise says the S24’s adapter and cable are sold separately, and lists its estimate with a 25W adapter and 3A USB-C cable. Check charger compatibility and the phone’s regional package before buying accessories.

Regional and date qualifications
The Samsung specifications above are from the company’s U.S. Galaxy S24 launch announcement. Samsung’s India product page separately gives India-specific launch and 5G-band information; those network details should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. Google’s $499 figure is from its U.S. Pixel 10a specifications page accessed October 4, 2026. For either phone, verify local network bands, warranty, software support terms and final price with the manufacturer or seller for the market where you plan to use it.
