How much more does the POCO F9 Pro cost?
At the Xiaomi UK listed prices checked on 4 October 2026, the F9 Pro costs £250 more than the F7 (£639 versus £389). Treat that as a snapshot of the UK listings, not a fixed price difference: retailer offers, stock and memory configuration can change what you pay. Compare current prices for the same market and storage tier before buying.
The F7 is the lower-priced option in this UK comparison. The extra £250 for the F9 Pro buys a different feature mix—not a demonstrated performance or camera-quality improvement established by independent side-by-side testing.

Performance and display: higher refresh rate or larger screen?
The F9 Pro lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series processor, while the F7 lists a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The names place them in different Snapdragon tiers, but the official pages do not provide a matched independent benchmark or sustained gaming test. They therefore do not establish a percentage performance advantage, gaming frame rate or thermal difference.
The display trade-off is more concrete: the F7’s panel is larger and has more listed pixels, while the F9 Pro supports a higher maximum refresh rate. A maximum refresh rate may not be available in every app or game, and it alone does not establish overall display quality or smoothness.

Cameras: the F9 Pro adds a telephoto lens
The F7 lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. The F9 Pro adds a 50MP floating telephoto camera with OIS to its 200MP OIS main and 8MP ultrawide cameras; its listed front camera is also higher resolution, at 32MP versus 20MP.
The extra telephoto camera gives the F9 Pro a dedicated listed camera role that the F7’s configuration does not include. Megapixel counts and lens count do not, by themselves, show which phone takes better photos: the reviewed official pages do not establish a controlled camera comparison.

Battery capacity and charging
The F7 has a stated typical battery capacity of 6,500mAh, compared with 6,330mAh for the F9 Pro. The F9 Pro lists 100W wired and 50W wireless charging; the F7 lists 90W wired charging. Both list reverse charging, with different maximum wired figures and wireless reverse charging listed for the F9 Pro.
Capacity and rated charging power do not establish real-world battery life or charge time. No comparable independent battery or charging test between these two models was established in the reviewed material.

Check what is in the box
Xiaomi’s F9 Pro specifications say the package does not include a power adapter and recommend a 100W-or-higher official adapter or a 100W PD-capable adapter; wireless chargers are sold separately. POCO advises F7 buyers to confirm adapter inclusion with their local seller. Check the exact regional listing and package contents before purchase.
Size, SIM and regional differences
The F9 Pro is shorter, narrower and lighter on the listed measurements, but thicker than the F7. The F7 has the larger screen. Those manufacturer dimensions help describe the physical trade-off, while comfort in hand remains subjective.
The F9 Pro UK specifications include eSIM configurations; the F7 global specifications list dual nano-SIM. Because the F7 source is global and the F9 Pro details here are UK-specific, do not assume SIM options, network bands or carrier support are identical in every country. Verify the exact model and compatibility with your local operator.
Which POCO should you choose?
Choose the POCO F7 if
- You want the lower Xiaomi UK listed price in this comparison.
- You prefer its larger 6.83-inch display or slightly higher stated typical battery capacity.
- The listed two-camera rear setup meets your needs and you do not need a dedicated telephoto camera.
Choose the POCO F9 Pro if
- You value its higher maximum listed refresh rate and smaller, lighter dimensions.
- You want a listed telephoto camera with OIS, alongside the main and ultrawide cameras.
- Wireless charging matters to you and you have accounted for the separately sold wireless charger and absent power adapter.
Neither choice is a universal winner on these specifications alone. Your decision turns on whether the F9 Pro’s added camera, refresh rate and wireless charging justify its current UK price premium, or the F7’s lower listing and larger screen better match your priorities.
