Cartoon Network is an entertainment brand in Warner Bros. Discovery’s portfolio, best known for television programming. The brand’s ownership, a channel’s availability, and the shows offered in a particular country are related but separate questions: check your local TV provider or regional service listings for current access and schedules.
What is Cartoon Network?
Cartoon Network is an entertainment brand associated with television programming. Warner Bros. Discovery lists it among its brands, within a wider portfolio spanning television, film, streaming, and gaming. That corporate listing identifies the brand’s current association with WBD; it does not mean every Cartoon Network channel feed or show is available everywhere.
Who owns Cartoon Network?
Warner Bros. Discovery lists Cartoon Network in its portfolio. Corporate developments announced in 2025 and reported in 2026 could affect the companies involved, but the cited announcements do not establish a completed change in Cartoon Network’s ownership or its precise placement after a planned separation.
WBD’s planned separation
WBD announced plans to separate its businesses into two companies: Streaming & Studios, to be named Warner Bros., and Global Networks, to be named Discovery Global. The announcement described a mid-2026 target. It did not specify Cartoon Network’s final placement after that separation. Read WBD’s separation announcement.

Proposed Paramount transaction
WBD shareholders approved a proposed $81 billion sale to Paramount, according to the Associated Press. In August 2026, the AP reported that UK regulators had cleared the transaction, while a challenge by 12 US states remained and the closing had been delayed well into the following year. Those reports describe a proposed, contested transaction—not a completed change in ownership. AP report on shareholder approval; AP report on regulatory developments.
A UK-specific commitment
A UK clearance report says commitments included keeping children’s channels such as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network distinct from each other. This is a jurisdiction-specific regulatory commitment; it does not determine global corporate structure or guarantee that either channel is carried in any particular market. There is no single worldwide answer established here. Channel carriage, schedules, and program availability vary by region. Check the channel guide or website for your local TV provider, and consult regional streaming-service listings if you are looking for on-demand access. The available sources do not establish a comprehensive current directory of providers or a global streaming catalog.
Schedules differ by region
For example, Cartoon Network Japan’s June 2026 schedule lists programs and uses production labels including “CN” for Cartoon Network Studio and “WB” for Warner Bros. Animation. It is a dated schedule for Japan, not a guide to current programming in other countries. Cartoon Network Japan schedule.
