The vivo V80 5G has the more ambitious display and battery claims on vivo India’s campaign page, while OPPO India lists firm prices for the Reno16 5G. But as of October 4, 2026, vivo’s reviewed official material does not establish the V80’s sale price or confirmed availability, so there is no reliable numeric price difference to report. The published specifications also come from different regional sources: OPPO Japan’s Reno16 model details and vivo India’s V80 campaign claims. Treat this as a feature comparison, not proof that every specification applies to the Indian Reno16 SKU.

OPPO Reno16 vs vivo V80 5G: core specifications

The figures below are manufacturer-listed claims, not independent test results. OPPO’s detailed specifications are for the Japan-market Reno16 5G, model CPH2865; its India page establishes prices and configurations but not the full specifications shown here. vivo’s figures are from its India V80 campaign page.

Specification OPPO Reno16 5G vivo V80 5G

Maximum wired charging claim 80W SUPERVOOC or 55W PPS (OPPO Japan) Up to 90W FlashCharge; vivo says the phone ships with a standard vivo charger (vivo India campaign)

India price evidence ₹66,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB/256GB on OPPO India’s store page Confirmed India sale price and sale status not established by the accessible official material as of October 4, 2026

Which phone has the better display?

On the published claims, the V80 has the larger, higher-resolution, faster-refresh display: vivo advertises a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel at up to 144Hz, compared with OPPO Japan’s 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display at up to 120Hz. vivo also advertises 5,000-nit local peak brightness. That is a manufacturer figure, not a brightness measurement from an independent test, and it should not be treated as sustained full-screen brightness.

The Reno16’s smaller screen may appeal if you prefer a more compact phone. The published specifications alone do not establish which display looks better in everyday use; brightness behavior, color tuning, reflections and refresh-rate management can matter as much as headline resolution or hertz.

Camera differences: hardware claims are not image-quality results

Both phones are pitched around multi-camera photography, portrait use and high-resolution selfies. OPPO Japan lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a stabilized telephoto camera, and up to 3.5× optical zoom. vivo India’s campaign lists a 50MP ZEISS-branded main camera with OIS, a stabilized 50MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom, a ZEISS ultrawide and a 50MP selfie camera.

vivo specifically advertises 4K video and 4K at 60fps. The accessible OPPO Japan specifications cited here do not establish an equivalent video mode, so the listed evidence cannot settle a video-spec comparison. Nor do megapixel counts, OIS, optical-zoom figures or a ZEISS label prove which phone takes better photos. That depends on processing and performance in particular lighting and scenes, which these manufacturer pages do not test.

Battery and charging: larger stated capacity is not a runtime test

OPPO Japan lists the Reno16 at 6,700mAh typical capacity and 6,490mAh rated capacity, with up to 80W SUPERVOOC or 55W PPS charging. vivo’s India campaign claims 7,200mAh typical and 7,015mAh rated capacity, and up to 90W FlashCharge. The campaign’s battery footnote refers to an October 6, 2026 comparison date, two days after the October 4, 2026 information date used for this comparison; the figure therefore needs particular care when checking current product details.

These capacity and maximum charging-rate claims do not show how long either phone lasts in real use or how quickly it charges from empty. Actual results depend on usage, settings, temperature, charger and other conditions; no directly comparable endurance or charge-time test is established here.

Performance, storage and software support

OPPO Japan specifies a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and a 12GB/256GB configuration using UFS 3.1 storage. The accessible vivo India campaign material does not provide dependable processor or memory-and-storage details for the V80, so there is not enough evidence here to call a performance winner or compare like-for-like configurations.

For software, OPPO Japan lists ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, while vivo India advertises up to six years of extended security updates. These are different kinds of information: one identifies an operating-system version, and the other states a security-update commitment. Check the precise update terms for the local model before using either as a measure of long-term support.

India price difference and availability

OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB/256GB. Those are OPPO India store prices, not a guarantee of a live marketplace offer.

As of October 4, 2026, the accessible official vivo material reviewed for the V80 does not establish an India sale price or confirmed on-sale status. A secondary comparison page described the phone as upcoming and gave October 6, 2026 as an expected date; an expected date is not confirmation of a launch or price. Because the V80 price is unresolved, calculating a price difference or declaring either phone better value would be misleading.

When the V80’s official price is available, compare the same date, market, RAM/storage configuration, seller and stock status. In particular, do not compare a discounted marketplace listing for one model with an official store price for the other as though they were equivalent.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Reno16 if

  • You want a price already listed by OPPO India: ₹66,999 for 8GB/256GB or ₹72,999 for 12GB/256GB.
  • You favor a smaller display and the documented Japan-market combination of Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
  • You value a stated stabilized 50MP telephoto camera with up to 3.5× optical zoom, subject to verifying the specifications of the Indian Reno16 SKU before purchase.

Consider the V80 if

  • You want the larger 6.59-inch, 1.5K, up-to-144Hz display described in vivo India’s campaign.
  • The advertised 7,200mAh typical battery, up-to-90W charging, 3× optical telephoto zoom or 4K 60fps video features match your priorities.
  • You can confirm the Indian retail price, exact configuration and availability, then decide whether those advertised features justify the difference.

Before buying either model, confirm the exact regional SKU, memory and storage, network bands, SIM support, included charger, software-update terms, seller and current price. The Japan-market Reno16 specifications should not be assumed to describe every Indian Reno16 configuration.
