Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is the stronger overall platform on the available specifications and benchmark evidence. It supports 5G, uses newer Cortex-A78 performance cores and is listed on a 6 nm process. The Helio G91 is a 4G chip with Cortex-A75 performance cores and a 12 nm process. Device-tested results also favor Snapdragon, though benchmark scores vary by phone and are not a controlled, same-handset comparison.

These are platform capabilities, not guaranteed specifications for every phone built around either chip. The handset maker selects the supported network bands, RAM and storage configuration, screen, camera hardware and software implementation. Qualcomm describes its 6 nm node as boosting efficiency, but node size alone does not establish how long a particular phone’s battery will last; Qualcomm notes that battery life varies with the device, settings and usage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 specifications and MediaTek’s Helio G91 specifications provide the vendor capability details.

Which chipset is faster?

The cited 91mobiles device-testing pages show higher Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 results in AnTuTu and Geekbench, across the reported single- and multi-core figures. The site says its displayed AnTuTu score is the highest it recorded for a device using each chipset. Because the results come from different phones, they indicate a direction rather than guaranteeing the score or speed of any particular handset.

Test and source Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 Helio G91
AnTuTu, 91mobiles’ highest recorded device result 417,839 265,150
Geekbench single-core, 91mobiles listed result 852 412
Geekbench multi-core, 91mobiles listed result 2,047 1,448

Scores are device results reported by 91mobiles, accessed in 2026—not population averages or guarantees for every phone. Differences in handset design, cooling, memory, software and benchmark version can affect outcomes. The comparison does not establish a controlled test using otherwise identical phones. See the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 benchmark page and Helio G91 benchmark page for the cited results and testing context.

A separate TopCPU comparison lists AnTuTu 10 figures of 431,521 for Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and 271,623 for Helio G91. Its comparison page does not detail the test methodology or device conditions, so these figures should not be mixed with 91mobiles’ device results as if they came from the same run.

What the specification differences mean

5G is the clearest practical difference

Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 supports sub-6 GHz 5G through its X51 modem; MediaTek presents the Helio G91 as a 4G platform. A phone using the G91 therefore does not gain 5G connectivity from that chipset. With either phone, check the exact model and regional network bands: the chip’s capability does not by itself confirm which bands the manufacturer enabled.

CPU design favors Snapdragon, despite matching core count and peak frequency

Both chips have eight CPU cores and list a maximum 2 GHz frequency for their two performance cores. Snapdragon uses Cortex-A78 cores, while the G91 uses the older Cortex-A75 design; both pair those cores with six Cortex-A55 cores listed at up to 1.8 GHz. The benchmark results are consistent with Snapdragon’s advantage in the cited tests, but actual responsiveness also depends on the whole phone and its workload.

The process-node difference is not a battery-life measurement

The listed process is 6 nm for Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and 12 nm for Helio G91. That specification favors Snapdragon, but it cannot predict real-world endurance on its own. Battery capacity, display, software, radio use, settings and workload all matter, and the cited materials do not establish a direct battery test between otherwise identical phones.

Graphics and display limits do not predict every game or screen

The chips use different integrated GPUs: Adreno 619 on Snapdragon and Mali-G52 MC2 on the G91. Qualcomm lists FHD+ display support up to 120 fps, while MediaTek lists up to 2520 × 1080 resolution at 90 Hz. These are platform ceilings. They do not prove that a phone has a panel with those specifications or that a particular game will run at a specific frame rate; that depends on the device, game and settings.

Camera megapixels are not photo-quality rankings

Both platforms advertise support for cameras up to 108 MP, with Qualcomm listing a Spectra triple ISP and MediaTek describing camera-processing features. Maximum supported resolution says little by itself about image quality. The sensor, lens, image processing and manufacturer tuning determine what a specific phone can capture.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 phone if you want 5G support from the chipset or prefer the stronger benchmark results and newer listed performance-core design.
  • Consider a Helio G91 phone if the specific handset better meets your needs and 4G is sufficient. The chipset alone does not determine a phone’s overall value or day-to-day experience.
  • Compare complete phones, not just processors: check price and condition, regional 5G and LTE bands, RAM and storage, screen quality, battery and charging, camera implementation, and the manufacturer’s software-update commitment.

Examples listed by 91mobiles include the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G with Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and the Itel S24 with Helio G91. Phone families can have regional or model-specific variants, so verify the exact model identifier and chipset before buying. See the Snapdragon device listing and Helio G91 device listing.
