Dressmaker is a cozy crafting game by Cozy Lives, published by Free Lives and released on Steam on September 21, 2026. Its core loop is to choose fabric, design and cut a pattern, sew and decorate the garment, then turn it in to a customer or sell a self-designed ready-made dress. The official Steam listing identifies both customer commissions and shop-window sales as ways to earn coin.
Commissions are the starting route: the official listing says customer deliveries earn coin and reputation. Off-the-rack sales are a later side-income option, not a replacement for commission requirements or a guaranteed shortcut through progression.
Earn through commissions first
- Open the available customer commission. Read its current brief, including visible garment requirements and the customer’s preferences.
- Make the requested dress using available materials. Choose fabric, cut the pattern, sew and decorate the garment to match what the brief asks for.
- Turn the finished dress in to the customer. Customer deliveries are a confirmed source of coin and reputation.
- Continue until you complete the third commission. The developer says the off-the-rack design option unlocks after that milestone.

After the third commission, check the game for the off-the-rack design option. Developer Elyaradine explains that players can then make dresses of their own, but choices remain limited by gold and unlocked content. This is not a free-material sandbox.
