Which phone is newer?
The Galaxy A37 5G is newer. Samsung announced US availability beginning April 9, 2026; Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report identifies the Galaxy A55 5G as a March 2024 launch. The different release dates matter when comparing remaining software support and availability, but they do not establish that the A37 is faster or better in every use. Which phone has the better cameras?
On paper, the A55 has higher listed resolutions for its ultrawide rear camera (12MP versus 8MP) and front camera (32MP versus 12MP). Both models list a 50MP main rear camera and a 5MP additional rear camera. Megapixel counts alone do not show which phone takes better photos: no comparable independent camera test is established here.
Which phone is lighter, and what about battery life?
Samsung’s cited regional specification pages list the A37 at 196g and the A55 at 213g, making the A37 17g lighter in that comparison. Samsung Latin America lists a typical 5,000mAh capacity for the A37, but a comparable A55 battery figure and controlled endurance results are not established here, so these facts do not identify a battery-life winner.

What are the prices, and what is the current price difference?
On October 4, 2026, Samsung US listed the unlocked A37 at $449.99 for 128GB and $569.99 for 256GB. The same listing says a charger is not included; the box contains the phone, data cable and ejection pin. Prices and inventory can change, and these are Samsung US listing prices, not universal or third-party prices. Samsung US Galaxy A37 buy page.
A current comparable US A55 price is not established here, so the price gap cannot be calculated responsibly. Compare the same market, storage capacity, phone condition and seller, and account for promotions before treating two offers as a real price difference. Do not compare a current new A37 listing with an old A55 launch price or a used A55 listing.

Samsung advertises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, plus up to six years of security updates, for the A37. For the A55, Samsung UK’s specification page gives security-update validity through March 31, 2028. Those are not identically phrased commitments, and the regional support information should not be treated as a direct, universal term comparison.
