Techdows reported on September 30, 2026, that the following architecture-specific MSU files are hosted on Microsoft’s catalog download server. Microsoft Update Catalog searches for KB5121794 reportedly return no results, despite the files being hosted on that server. The filenames and sizes below come from Techdows, not from a Microsoft-published direct-link list. Check that each link still resolves to Microsoft’s host before using it.

Microsoft’s KB5121794 support article is the authoritative source for applicability and prerequisites. The direct file names and sizes are reported by Techdows. The support article lists Windows Update, Microsoft Update Catalog, and WSUS as release channels, but does not show the x64 or ARM64 MSU filenames.
Check eligibility before downloading
- Current Windows version: KB5121794 is for Windows 11 version 24H2 or 25H2. It is not an in-place enablement package for Windows 10 or Windows 11 23H2; those systems need a full-upgrade route.
- Prerequisite update: Microsoft requires the September 22, 2026 KB5124010 preview update, identified on its KB5121794 support article as OS build 26100.9546, or a later cumulative update.
- Architecture: Select x64 for an Intel- or AMD-based PC and ARM64 for an ARM-based PC. Confirm the device’s architecture rather than choosing by filename alone.
If a third-party guide gives a different prerequisite KB identifier, follow Microsoft’s prerequisite statement. Microsoft’s release-health page reported general availability on September 29, 2026, with a phased rollout to eligible 24H2 and 25H2 devices over the following months. What the enablement package does
Microsoft says Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and 26H2 share a common core operating system and identical system files. On up-to-date 24H2 and 25H2 systems, the 26H2 features are present but inactive; KB5121794 activates them. Microsoft describes the eKB as a small, quick-to-install “master switch.”

For eligible devices receiving updates through Windows Update or WSUS, Microsoft says the enablement package is delivered automatically as part of installing the 26H2 feature update. Applying the package moves a supported 24H2 or 25H2 device to 26H2 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. Microsoft does not specify an install-time duration in the cited material.
Install the MSU on a running PC
For a single eligible PC, Techdows describes installing the matching MSU through Windows Update Standalone Installer. Confirm the Windows version, architecture, and prerequisite update first.

- Download the x64 or ARM64 MSU that matches the PC.
- Double-click the downloaded
.msufile. - At the Windows Update Standalone Installer prompt, confirm installation.
- Restart Windows after installation completes.
Techdows also documents wusa.exe and DISM methods, including adding the MSU to an offline Windows image. For deployment decisions and exact command syntax, consult the guide and validate the procedure against current Microsoft deployment documentation. An offline image still needs KB5124010 or a later cumulative update; the eKB does not replace that prerequisite.
Check rollout status and known issues
Microsoft’s release-health page reported an AC-3 audio decoding issue as confirmed, updated October 2, 2026; several September issues were listed as mitigated. These statuses can change, so review the live Windows 11 release-health page before installing or deploying the update. A phased rollout means that a device’s availability through Windows Update may differ from the date general availability was announced.
