Is its compact shape right for you?
Portability is the reason to consider this mouse, but its small dimensions are also the main fit question. At 100.5 mm long and 65 mm wide, it takes up little bag or desk space. That makes it convenient for travel and for moving between work locations, but users who prefer a broad shell and full palm support may find a larger mouse more comfortable.
RTINGS’ review describes the shape as comfortable and compact, and praises its portability. That is not a universal fit guarantee: hand size and grip style matter. If possible, compare the dimensions with a mouse you already find comfortable, or try the Anywhere 3S before committing to it for long daily sessions.

The wheel offers both distinct notched scrolling and a free-spinning mode, a useful combination when switching between precise movement and long pages or documents. RTINGS also identifies the missing left/right tilt inputs as a drawback. If you rely on horizontal scrolling or tilt shortcuts, check whether your workflow can use another control method.
Device switching and software
Bluetooth lets you pair the mouse with up to three devices, which suits a desk setup that moves between a computer, laptop, or other compatible device. For receiver-based connectivity, the supported option is Logi Bolt, sold separately; Logitech says other Logitech USB receivers do not work with this mouse. Customization features require Logi Options+ on Windows or macOS, so factor that software requirement into a managed or locked-down computer setup.

Is the MX Anywhere 3S good for gaming?
It can handle casual gaming, but it is not designed for competitive play. RTINGS’ review, published July 12, 2023 and modified August 14, 2026, reports a maximum polling rate of 125 Hz and says latency and cursor smoothness are tradeoffs against dedicated gaming mice. The review notes that gaming mice commonly use 1,000 Hz polling. For fast-paced competitive games, choose a mouse intended for that use instead.
