To capture a long page, use the Screenshot toolbar’s scroll-capture button after taking a screenshot of eligible scrollable content.
Take a screenshot with the buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Briefly press the Side key and Volume Down at the same time, then release both keys.
- Open the screenshot in Gallery, or use the on-screen toolbar for available follow-up actions.
Pressing and holding the keys can open the power-off or restart menu instead of taking a screenshot. Samsung’s S20 FE support instructions describe a brief simultaneous press.
Capture with a palm swipe
If you prefer not to use the keys, turn on the gesture first: Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture. Then keep the edge of your hand in contact with the screen and swipe across it from one side to the other.
Menu names can vary with region and installed software. If you cannot find the setting at that path, search Settings for “Palm swipe to capture.”

Button shortcut or palm swipe?

Neither method is documented as universally faster or more reliable; choose based on how you prefer to interact with the phone.
Capture a long or scrolling page
- Open a page that can scroll and take a screenshot with either method.
- When the Screenshot toolbar appears, tap its scroll-capture icon to extend the screenshot downward.
- Continue using the scroll-capture control as needed, then use the toolbar’s available editing, cropping, or sharing actions.
If the toolbar is missing, check Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder > Screenshot toolbar and enable it. Samsung notes that the scroll-capture control may not appear if the content is not long enough to scroll. If the menu labels differ, search Settings for “Screenshot toolbar.”

Adjust screenshot options
Samsung documents settings to hide the status and navigation bars in screenshots. The S20 FE manual also lists preferences such as image format and storage location, but available choices can differ by regional variant and software release. Some apps and device functions prevent screenshots. Samsung’s broader Galaxy guidance warns that capture is unavailable in some apps or functions; a restriction may be imposed by the app or by the feature itself. If capture works elsewhere but not in one particular app or feature, that restriction may explain the difference. For other problems, make sure you are pressing the two keys briefly together rather than holding them, and check Settings for the relevant gesture or toolbar option.
Samsung’s S20 FE support article was published on 2020-10-12; its instructions are specific to the S20 FE, while exact settings can vary by region and software. Samsung China’s general Galaxy guidance was last updated 2024-02-01 and is not a guarantee that every menu or option appears on every S20 FE variant.
