Connect Samsung Galaxy Buds to an iPad through Bluetooth: open Settings > Bluetooth on the iPad, turn Bluetooth on, open the Buds’ charging case with the earbuds inside, then tap the Buds when they appear in the device list. Some models need an additional pairing gesture.
Pair Galaxy Buds with your iPad
- Charge and place the earbuds in the case. If the Buds are new or have not been used for a while, Samsung advises charging them for at least 10 minutes before pairing.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the iPad. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
- Put the Buds in pairing mode. Open the charging case with both earbuds inside. For some models, opening the case is not enough; use the pairing gesture specified for that model. Samsung notes that certain cases have a button on the bottom that you hold for three seconds.
- Select the Buds on the iPad. When the Galaxy Buds name appears in the Bluetooth device list, tap it. After connection, the Buds should appear among the iPad’s devices.
If the Galaxy Buds do not appear
- Check Bluetooth and distance. Make sure Bluetooth is on and keep the iPad and earbuds close together, with as few obstacles between them as possible.
- Restart pairing mode. If the case has been open for three minutes without a connection, Samsung says the Buds stop actively pairing. Close the case, then open it again to restart the process.
- Use the model’s pairing gesture. If opening the case does not make the Buds discoverable, consult the instructions for your specific Galaxy Buds model. Some models require holding the case’s pairing button for three seconds.
- Check for a nearby device already paired with the Buds. A previously paired device nearby can interfere with connecting to a new one. Disconnect the Buds from that device or remove its existing pairing, then put the earbuds back into pairing mode and try again.
- Charge the earbuds. If they are new or have been unused for some time, charge them before another attempt.
What works after pairing—and what may not
Bluetooth pairing lets the iPad connect to the earbuds for basic audio use, but it does not guarantee access to every Samsung app feature or setting. Samsung’s Japan support guidance says the Galaxy Wearable app is not available for Buds on iOS. It identifies Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live as models with a Galaxy Buds app available from the App Store, while noting that some settings are unavailable. App availability and controls can vary by model and market, so check the instructions for your particular Buds before relying on advanced settings.
Samsung’s general iOS pairing guidance does not provide a complete feature-compatibility list for every Galaxy Buds generation and iPadOS release. For model-specific controls or gestures, use the instructions for that Buds model.
