To capture a long page, take a screenshot and tap Scroll capture in the toolbar. You can also enable Samsung’s palm-swipe gesture if you prefer not to use the buttons.
Take a screenshot with the buttons
- Open the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Side key and Volume Down at the same time.
- Release both keys after a brief moment. The display flashes to confirm the screenshot; Samsung’s general Galaxy guide also notes that a shutter sound may be used.
If the keys are pressed for too long, the button action may not feel like a quick screenshot. Press them simultaneously and release promptly rather than holding them down. Samsung’s instructions describe a flash or sound as confirmation. Samsung’s Galaxy screenshot guide
Enable palm swipe to capture
To take a screenshot without pressing the keys, turn on Palm swipe to capture:
- Open Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures.
- Turn on Palm swipe to capture.
- Place the edge of your hand against the display and swipe it across the screen.
If the gesture does not work, first check that the setting is enabled. It does not override capture restrictions: Samsung says some screens containing personal information and some apps do not permit screenshots. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 palm-swipe instructions

Capture a long webpage or document
Scroll capture can extend a screenshot down a page that is longer than the display. It is available only when the content extends beyond one screen, and some apps and websites do not support it.
- Take a normal screenshot using the Side key and Volume Down.
- When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture.
- Tap Scroll capture again as needed to include more of the page.
If the control is missing, check that there is more content below the visible screen. If there is, the app or site may not offer scroll capture. Samsung Canada’s screenshot instructions

Other ways to start a capture
Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance also describes voice commands through Bixby or Google Assistant, and Screen Write with an S Pen on devices equipped with one. Whether these are useful depends on your voice-assistant setup and S22 configuration; they are not required for the button, palm-swipe, or scroll-capture methods.
A Samsung Community answer also suggests a Quick Panel screenshot control and a shortcut through Good Lock’s RegiStar module. Those are community suggestions, not methods Samsung’s cited instructions establish as available across every S22 software version or region. Check your own phone before relying on either shortcut. Find, edit, or share the screenshot
Open Gallery > Albums > Screenshots to find saved captures. You can also use the screenshot thumbnail or toolbar immediately after capture to access editing and sharing options. Labels and menu details can vary by software version and region. Samsung’s Gallery and screenshot guidance

Some privacy-sensitive screens and apps prevent screenshots. If a capture is blocked, that restriction is intentional; switching from the buttons to palm swipe does not bypass it. Samsung’s S22 support page specifically advises checking whether the screen contains personal information or the app disallows screenshots. Samsung Support
