The full-size Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro is a low-profile wireless optical gaming keyboard with a choice of linear red or clicky purple switches, three connection modes, per-key RGB, and dedicated media controls. Its appeal is a slim, feature-rich setup that can move between a gaming PC and other devices. The tradeoffs are less certain battery life than Razer’s headline suggests, plus no wrist rest or USB pass-through.

What the DeathStalker V2 Pro is—and which model this review covers

This is the full-size wireless DeathStalker V2 Pro, not the tenkeyless (TKL) wireless model or the wired DeathStalker V2. Razer describes it as a low-profile optical gaming keyboard. The full-size layout includes a number pad, while its slim profile is intended to keep the keys closer to the desk than a conventional-height keyboard.

Razer offers low-profile linear red and clicky purple optical switch variants. RTINGS identifies its reviewed sample as the full-size wireless version with linear red switches, so findings about that sample should not automatically be applied to the purple-switch model. RTINGS’ DeathStalker V2 Pro review establishes the variant it assessed, but the available review details here do not support quoting a specific score or measured result.

How it connects and switches between devices

The keyboard supports Razer HyperSpeed over 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, and wired operation through its detachable Type-C cable. Razer also describes device-switching profiles and a compartment for storing the wireless dongle. That mix makes it practical to choose a low-latency wireless connection for a gaming setup, Bluetooth for another device, or a cable when you prefer a wired connection or need to charge.

Switch feel and typing

Linear red

The red option is the linear variant: its keypress has no click mechanism intended to provide a distinct audible click. TechRadar’s 2026 guide reports 1.2 mm actuation and 2.8 mm total travel for the linear optical version. Those figures are publication-reported measurements, not values stated in Razer Support’s specification table. GamesRadar’s 2022 guide describes typing as smooth, but that impression reflects its reviewer’s experience rather than a controlled comparison across switch types.

Clicky purple

The purple option is Razer’s clicky alternative. Choose it if an audible, more explicitly tactile-feeling keypress is the priority; choose red if you prefer a linear press. The supplied sources do not provide a measured sound level or a controlled head-to-head typing test, so they do not establish which switch is quieter, faster, or better for a particular user.

Battery life: why the published numbers differ

Battery runtime is the clearest caveat. Razer’s US product page markets the keyboard as lasting “up to 200 hours,” while Razer Support’s specification table lists 40 hours. TechRadar’s 2026 guide reports 26 hours at full brightness and 200 hours with RGB off; GamesRadar reported an average of 27 hours per charge with lighting at full brightness in its 2022 guide. These are not equivalent claims: the conditions and source differ, and Razer’s headline is a maximum rather than a guaranteed typical runtime.

Source Reported battery figure Qualification
Razer product page Up to 200 hours Manufacturer marketing claim; not a typical-use guarantee.
Razer Support specification table 40 hours Manufacturer-listed specification; the table does not establish matching test conditions.
TechRadar, 2026 26 hours at full brightness; 200 hours with RGB off Publication-reported figures under the stated lighting conditions.
GamesRadar, 2022 27 hours average per charge Reviewer observation with lighting at full brightness; not a universal result.

In practical terms, do not buy it expecting 200 hours with bright RGB enabled. Lighting, connection and use conditions matter, and the sources do not provide a single standardized test that reconciles their figures. If frequent charging would be a problem, treat the maximum as a best-case claim and plan around the lower, full-brightness observations instead.

Controls, software, and physical specifications

The full-size model has a media button and roller, per-key RGB, programmable keys, on-the-fly macro recording, and gaming mode. Razer lists Synapse 4 for configuration. The aluminum top plate is part of Razer’s product description; the keycaps are coated ABS according to Razer Support.

Razer Support lists dimensions of 437 × 139 × 26 mm and a weight of 776.5 g. It also rates the switches for 70 million keystrokes. That number is a manufacturer lifespan rating, not independent evidence of durability over long-term use.

What is missing, and which layout makes sense?

The DeathStalker V2 Pro has neither USB pass-through nor an included wrist rest, according to Razer Support. GamesRadar also notes both omissions in its value discussion. If you regularly plug a mouse or headset into your keyboard, or rely on wrist support, factor in the need for separate desk accessories. The low-profile design may suit people who want a thinner keyboard, but it does not replace a wrist rest for anyone who needs one.

Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro TKL Wireless Gaming Keyboard: Low Profile Optical Switches Linear Red - HyperSpeed Wireless & Bluetooth - Chroma RGB - Up to 200 Hr Battery Snap Tap
  • LOW-PROFILE LINEAR OPTICAL SWITCHES — Perform quicker keystrokes with all-new switches that have a shorter actuation height for reduced key travel, backed by a 70-million keystroke lifespan for long-lasting performance
  • TOP-CLASS CONNECTIVITY — Experience lag-free gaming and instant response with Razer HyperSpeed Wireless (2.4GHz) connection or unlock greater functionality with Bluetooth 5.0 and toggle between 3 devices

  • LASER-ETCHED KEYCAPS WITH HYPERGUARD COATING — Greater protection against wear and tear compared to regular keycaps

The full-size layout is the right fit if you use a number pad or want the dedicated media controls within reach. If desk space matters more than the number pad, compare it with the separate TKL model rather than assuming the full-size dimensions apply to that version. The wired DeathStalker V2 is also a different product, so check the exact model name when shopping.

Is the Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro worth it?

It is a compelling option if you want a slim, full-size gaming keyboard with wireless flexibility, per-key RGB, media controls, and a choice between linear and clicky optical switches. Its strongest practical case is the combination of 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, and wired use in one keyboard.

It is a less obvious fit if you need a wrist rest or USB pass-through, prefer a conventional-height keyboard, or require a dependable long battery interval while running RGB at full brightness. Battery claims vary too much by source and conditions to treat the 200-hour maximum as typical. Check the exact switch and layout variant, and verify current regional availability and pricing before buying.
