The Miele Boost CX1 is a compact, corded, bagless canister vacuum that may suit smaller homes and people who prefer not to buy vacuum bags. Its value depends on the exact regional version: floorheads and filters vary, and testing reported both good fine-debris pickup and difficulty with some larger debris. Check the model number and included head before buying; the CX1 name alone does not tell you whether a listing has a HEPA filter or a carpet-oriented turbo head.

What is the Miele Boost CX1?

The Boost CX1 is a bagless canister vacuum with a cord, rather than a cordless stick model. Miele’s US data for material number 11735800 lists a 1,200 W motor, a 1-liter dust container, a four-stage rotary suction selector, 78 dB rated volume, an 18 lb (7.8 kg) weight, a 21 ft (6.5 m) cord, and a 32 ft (10 m) operating radius. Those figures describe that US configuration, not every CX1 sold worldwide. Miele US product information and its US data sheet for material number 11735800 provide the specifications.

The canister format keeps the main unit separate from the floorhead, but the cord and dust container are part of the trade-off: it does not offer cordless convenience, and emptying a bagless bin can release dust. Miele’s Graphite Grey US listing describes Vortex technology, TrackDrive wheels, a Hygiene AirClean exhaust filter, and included upholstery, crevice, and dusting tools; those details should not be assumed for every regional SKU.

Which Boost CX1 version are you buying?

Model names and equipment differ by market. RTINGS’ US configuration table distinguishes these variants, but treat it as a secondary-source guide and verify the precise seller listing and model number before ordering. RTINGS’ review and configuration table identifies its tested unit as the Cat & Dog version.

Standard Boost CX1 AllTeQ universal floorhead Hygiene AirClean Do not assume a powered brush or HEPA filtration.
Boost CX1 Cat & Dog TurboTeQ HEPA-equipped The turbo brush is intended to agitate carpet and help lift pet hair; it is not the same configuration as the standard model.
Boost CX1 Parquet Parquet Twister HEPA-equipped The included head is oriented toward hard floors; check its suitability for your carpet needs.

Miele Canada likewise says the filter depends on the model. It states that its HEPA AirClean filter has dust-retention capacity of more than 99.999% under IEC 62885-4, a manufacturer specification for that filter—not independent proof that every Boost CX1 has HEPA filtration or that every user’s exposure is eliminated. Miele Canada’s Boost CX1 overview describes the market-specific filter options.

How well does the Boost CX1 clean?

RTINGS reported good pickup of fine material and pet hair in its test conditions, but less consistent collection of some medium and large debris on both hard floors and carpet. The low floorhead could push larger debris rather than collect it. Its review characterized carpet performance as adequate rather than exceptional, with limitations varying by carpet pile and head. These are findings from RTINGS’ Cat & Dog test unit and methods, not a guarantee of results in every home.

Hard floors and everyday debris

Fine debris is the stronger case in the cited testing. Larger pieces may be pushed along by the floorhead, so homes that regularly have chunky crumbs or other large debris on the floor should weigh that limitation against the CX1’s compact canister design.

Carpet and pet hair

RTINGS found the turbo brush useful for pet hair on carpet, while noting an inactive strip associated with the belt position. The upholstery nozzle performed well on furniture in its testing. Since the floorhead changes by variant, those results should not be transferred to the standard model without checking its included equipment.

Does the Miele Boost CX1 have a HEPA filter?

Some versions are listed as HEPA-equipped; the standard US model in RTINGS’ configuration table uses Hygiene AirClean instead. Miele also says filter type depends on model. Look for the exact SKU and filter name in the product listing or manufacturer documentation rather than relying on “Boost CX1” in the title. A compatible replacement filter should also be matched to the exact regional model; RTINGS identifies SF-HA 60 in its review data, but that alone is not a universal compatibility confirmation.

Filtration while the vacuum is running and dust exposure while emptying are separate considerations. RTINGS reported effective particle containment during operation for its HEPA-equipped test unit, but also observed a dust cloud when emptying the bin. That finding is a reason to be cautious about calling the bagless CX1 allergy-safe, even when a particular variant has a HEPA filter.

Is the Boost CX1 easy to empty and maintain?

Bagless operation means there are no disposable vacuum bags to replace, but emptying is not necessarily dust-free. RTINGS observed a dust cloud and recommends emptying outdoors or away from living areas when possible. The review also describes multiple parts that require cleaning and maintenance. If minimizing contact with collected dust is a priority, consider whether this disposal routine fits your household before choosing a bagless model.

What does the independent test result mean?

Miele reported on February 5, 2025, that Stiftung Warentest gave the German Boost CX1 Allergy a GOOD (2.1) overall result. Miele’s release lists durability 1.1, safety 1.0, pollutants 1.0, suction 2.0, environmental properties 1.9, and handling 2.7. The result concerns the Allergy variant in a German test context; Miele said two bagless cylinder vacuums were tested and the results were incorporated alongside earlier September 2024 results. It is not a direct rating of every CX1 configuration, including the US base model. Miele’s February 2025 release reports the result.

Who should consider the Miele Boost CX1?

  • It may fit: compact homes, buyers who want a corded canister and bagless dust collection, and households whose floor mix matches the specific included head.
  • Think carefully if: your home is mostly carpet and you expect strong deep-carpet agitation, you frequently vacuum larger debris, or you want to avoid a possible dust cloud when disposing of dirt.
  • Verify before purchase: market and model number, floorhead, filter, included accessories, seller, voltage, current price, and availability. Make sure a retail listing is for Boost CX1, not Blizzard CX1.

Miele’s US Graphite Grey product page describes one configuration, while material number 11735800 refers to a separate US data sheet; stock and listings can change. Use the exact product documentation for the unit you are considering rather than treating either listing as a permanent statement of availability.

Verdict

The Miele Boost CX1 is a plausible compact bagless canister for the right flooring and buyer, not a one-size-fits-all recommendation. Its key strengths in the available evidence are fine-debris pickup in testing and the option of variant-specific heads and filters. The most important cautions are inconsistent collection of some larger debris, only adequate carpet results in the cited test, and dusty bin emptying. Buy by exact configuration, not by family name.
